Galatians 5: 13-15. Great news we are called to freedom… - don’t use it for sin and evil.
Read the text: Recap. -Intro Gospel of Jesus Christ. – other teachers say they should be obeying the Jewish tradition’s to be real Christians including circumcision. A false gospel that is to be rejected. Paul will write as he did in 5:1 For freedom Christ has set you free, not to be slaves to the law Jesus fulfilled, and not submit to other kinds/yoaks of slavery. You were called to freedom, to love and serve God.
1). Do we understand we are called to freedom from the law? (And freedom in general)? Freedom in Gods eyes. (Relationship) Out of slavery. To Jesus Christ.
2). Do we understand why? We are called to freedom? In Christ? To love and serve one another as Christ did. – Jesus’ teaching – love one another as I have loved you, from Lev, - Freedom as unity, that holds the people of the Church together. Instead of fights against one another. PPT
3). Do we eat one another? -fights and more. Called to freedom from slavery, PPT
The beauty – that Jesus brings freedom to love and serve God and others in the Joy of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirt. – Walk by the Spirt. (Not in our own strength).
There is a great waring that the freedom we have is not a license to sin, to be set free from the law to sin and let the flesh run willed, - no, Paul, Peter and John all warn that it is not the reason that we are free in Christ so we can sin, and indulge in immorality. Not, to do whatever I want, lust, gossip, money, seek prestige, high standing, to get a plat form, to promote my case, not to do me, not to get the worlds prize, get back at people, get what I deserve comfort and peace, no…
All slavery…
No, we were called to freedom away from the law and to Christ Jesus; who for filed the law, away from our self-righteousness to Jesus’ righteousness, - away from outward actions only, to inward change by Jesus, so we don’t do things to make us right with God but instead in our freedom we can love and serve God and our neighbor.
Freedom from slavery of the law, so we can in joy serve Jesus. And love others. As Christ has loved us.
