Luke 19:8–10 NKJV
8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” 9 And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Made a list of all persons we have harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
-Step 8 fourth addition of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous .

1. Recovery is a lifestyle. an on going lifestyle that never ends.

Romans 3:23 NKJV
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
1 John 1:8–9 NKJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

To deny that I have sin, totally Kills my spiritual growth.

2. Making an amends is not determined by the worthiness of the person who we are making amends to.

3. the amends that we make has everything to do with maintaining our own freedom.

I will not be able to maintain my sobriety long term.

I will not be able to be used by the Lord fully in the way that He intended to use it.
