The kind of Faith God wants

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV 1900)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
by faith Abel was righteous
by faith he offered the more excellent sacrifice, obedience
by faith even in his death his faith still speaks
Genesis 4:1 (KJV 1900)
1 And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
Genesis 3:15 (KJV 1900)
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
No man or woman could bring the Savior to the world.
Mary is the only woman in history who had a child with a man, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, born of a virgin.
her seed
Genesis 4:2–8 (KJV 1900)
2 And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.
6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
The first act of worship,
Abel was a shepherd, and
Cain was a farmer.
Both brought their offering,
both worshipped.
God communicated with His people in a loud voice, not like today, through the Spirit and the Word.
Obviously God explained how He wanted to be worshipped because Cain's offering was not pleasing to Him.
Noah brought animals to sacrifice.
And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect.
Cain becomes very angry instead of honoring and obeying God.
1 John 3:12 (KJV 1900)
12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
Cain's life is about being rebellious against God and his will.
Jude 11 (KJV 1900)
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
Cain religious but rebellious and unjust,
Abel by faith.
Hebrews 11:4 (KJV 1900)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
Cain wanted to worship his way,
rebellious,
ignoring Calvary,
the blood,
the substitute,
what he does is sufficient in his mind.
Romans 11:6 (KJV 1900)
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
Abel’s sacrifice was more excellent

Su sacrificio era mas excelente

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV 1900)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
There was obviously a time of worship,
there was a way to worship.
They learn by listening and watching their parents.
Abel worships in obedience,
Cain forms the new religion of works, of doing it his way.
Proverbs 14:12 (KJV 1900)
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, But the end thereof are the ways of death.
It's false religion when you come to God as you please.

Abel’s faith showed he was righteous, saved

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV 1900)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
God testifies that he was righteous,
he brought the right offering
Christ is the most excellent sacrifice
Hebrews 9:11–14 (KJV 1900)
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 10:11–14 (KJV 1900)
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

how can the sacrifice of Abel still speak

Hebrews 11:4 (KJV 1900)
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
only the blood saves
Hebrews 9:22 (KJV 1900)
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
Salvation is not by works or anything you can do,
faith without works teaches us that true worship is as God wants it,
true worship is very humble.
It shows that there will always be those who hate the way of Christ and prefer the way of Cain.
