Deliverance from Self

Matthew 19:25–30 (NASB)

When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?”

And looking at them Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Then Peter said to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You; what then will there be for us?”

And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

“And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.

“But many who are first will be last; and the last, first.

Pray for our eyes to be open and an understanding in the Spirit.

Engage one of the most difficult forms of liberation in the Liberation of the Self

not to be confused with self deliverance

This is the deliverance of concepts and perceptions and human reasoning that is not rooted in the Word.

Rich young ruler wants to know how to obtain eternal life.

many come to the Lord seeking the same thing… so long as I don’t go to hell

He is given 6 commandment that relate to the interpersonal interaction

Do not murder; Do not commit Adultery; Do not steal; Do not bear false witness; Honor your Father and Mother; (1 that is later stated outside of the Pent. but sums up all of these) Love your neighbor as yourself.

All of these are human efforts; and have a visible tangible manifestation when you are abiding by them.

That is I can do all of these in my flesh from the emotion of the Soul and think that I am going to get a good report from the Lord

It is easy to “do” the right thing and miss the things of the Spirit.

After he says I got this… what else… the rich young ruler is hit with the things of the Spirit

It is here that we note the plight of humanity

The undertaking of giving everything one is, and everything one has, and everything one desires to be to (a) have treasure in heaven and (b) follow Christ is an appeal against our very humanity

Even those following Christ can be found in a space of if they cant how can I

With the reason or rationale of humanity it is impossible

With God all things are possible

Followed Christ into the regeneration

it is not a lost cause

For the Jew he will judge over the house of Israel; For the gentile the church… (2 witnesses)

We must put on the mind of Christ being transformed into the being we were called to be.

Gravity of Truth

Many of us have a tendency of living in the concepts and never truly transition to the fullness of the concept… we become excellent philosophers

John 8:31-32 tells us that IF we abide in His word then we are disciple. IF we are His disciples then we will know the truth. IF we know the truth then we will be set free

a process that takes us from living the in concept of into the fullness of the concept

as we encounter the truth that is Jesus Christ then we can truly be free

We cannot live in our truth we must live in the truth that is Jesus Christ

Example: the work of the cross to often is reduced to at least I am not going to hell.

More than sins forgiven

More than becoming a better person

More than carrying His power

It is the work of reconnecting your Spirit to the things from above

Gospel is that we were dead… unable to reconnect with our creator… having a debt so big we could not pay… the work of the cross was to connect our Spirit to the Creator once more.

what good would it do to simply bring your flesh to life? or your soul to life

Until people truly understand the effort of the cross they will have a wait and see approach

Soulful response generates religiosity.

Jas 1:14 tells us that is our own desires which are rooted in the soul that entice us to sin and that sin is killing us

2 Tim 4:3 Tells us that in the last days (which we are living) people will gather teaching to justify their desire (which are rooted in the soul)

Titus 3:5 ESV

he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit,

Human intellect is not enough;

The things we gather as the rich young ruler are not enough;

Regeneration which is Palingenesia

to be made new again; to be restored to a previous condition

to be made to live in His DNA once more

So the work of the cross is to cause us to abandon the Humanity or Humanistic reason to live into the Eternal found in Christ

Our intellect is not enough, our reasoning is not enough, our strength is not enough… no amount of philosophy will answer what only God can

So liberate yourself from the world…

Liberate yourself from satan…

but the most difficult of these Liberate yourself from the you.

Humanism makes a bold move to try to speak for the very God they deny

False Worship and Adoration

Our worship and adoration are not just human concepts; they are the encounters we have had and now try to express in our worship

Matthew 15:9 ESV

Soulful approaches attempt to emotionally tell you and later force you to

Paul in 2 Cor 12 makes an attempt to recount what he saw… the ineffable things of God… no words can express

Elemental Spirits of the World

Colossians 2:8 ESV

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

Philosophy cannot answer the things of God

Empty deceit misleading or erroneous views

Human tradition

these were the things which spirits had taught humanity… it must be according to Christ

stop taking counsel form the world

It is written…

anything or anyone that says “I know what scripture says but…” RUN

Appearances

Matthew 22:16 ESV

And they sent their disciples to him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that you are true and teach the way of God truthfully, and you do not care about anyone’s opinion, for you are not swayed by appearances.

when people begin to adulate you be very cautious they are trying to sway you

Jesus who is the truth in person was very aware of the malice they were conceiving

Traditions

Mark 7:8–9 ESV

You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!

Some people are obsessed with tradition

when tradition trumps the commandment of God your are rejecting God

Human Approval

John 5:41–42 ESV

I do not receive glory from people. But I know that you do not have the love of God within you.

we do not work for man; or reason with humanity what we do is for the Lord. We need His approval.

Human approval is not rooted in the love of God

when people see the fruits of the Spirit at work and yet make the attempt to subvert those fruits it is the fruits of flesh that are at work.
