The dimensions of Gods love...
The dimensions of Gods love...
Do you know in phyiscs how many dimensions are believed to exist now?
Classical and Relativistic Physics: 4 dimensions (3 spatial + 1 time).
String Theory: 10 dimensions (9 spatial + 1 time).
M-Theory: 11 dimensions (10 spatial + 1 time).
Today we are going to look at some of GODS LOVE IN 4D...
Christian Standard Bible (Chapter 3)
14 For this reason I kneel before the Father 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. 16 I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, 17 and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, 19 and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
One of the most important holes we fill in each of our lives is a God sized hole that everyone has… thats to know and be known by God...
And everyone whether we know it or not is trying to figure that out...
We either try to figure it out knowingly...
or unknowingly.
Paul is talking to believers here … the church… for the most part here today, you and I. Though I know.
So Paul felt it neccesary to remind the church of Gods Love. So I will do
prays for strength -
Christ dwells in there hearts
Rooted and founded in love
Comprehend Gods love.
MORE KNOWLEDGE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO EXPERIENCE THE FULLNESS OF GOD
Comprehending Christs love is what we give you the fullness of God...
often we are getting to wanting to know more facts and figures and knowledge and information more then wanting to know and experience greater levels of Gods love for you and I.
Wanting to know more is okay … Infact I think we should be the learning crowd.... the scripture encourages us in that.
But it also brings its limits.
As long as we know its limitations. you can learn a lot and miss what matters … KNOWING GOD MORE.
Proverbs 18:15 ESV
Proverbs 18:15 ESV
An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
Hosea 4:6 ESV
Hosea 4:6 ESV
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me
Proverbs 4:7
Proverbs 4:7
"The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."
Proverbs 18:15 (NIV)
Proverbs 18:15 (NIV)
"The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge, for the ears of the wise seek it out."
But there is a warning as well … dont think knowing more is enough. And infact, it becomes an idol to us or prideful, it hinders our relatinoship with God
Ecclesiastes 1:18 (NIV)
"For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief."
1 corinthians 8
Says knowledge puffs us up, love builds up
1 Corinthians 13:2 (NIV)
"If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing."This verse underscores that knowledge without love is meaningless.
2 Timothy 3:7 (NIV)
"Always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth."
Ephesians 3:19 and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
CHRISTS LOVE, and COMPREHENEDING IT … SURPASSES any knowledge. That means
overtakes it. Overcomes it. Imagine a race.
pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, 19 and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Foundation of love.
Whats your life built on? what is its foundation? is it LOVE?
