The Kingdoms of This World

Babylon - The lion with wings (pictured in the gates of Babylon).

Persia - The bear raised on one side. Three ribs picture the three kingdoms it conquered - Lydia, Babylon, and Egypt.

Greece - the leopard with four heads and wings. Alexander the great quickly rose to power within a period of 10 years conquered the world from Greece to Egypt to Persia to India.

Imperialism - the great beast. Rome arose and conquered the world ruling with an iron rod. A future one world government with 10 regional kingdoms will arise. Out of that comes the kingdom of Satan.

The Kingdom of Satan

Revelation 17:12–13 ESV

And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast.

The little horn is identified by Paul as the “man of lawlessness” 2 Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,”

This is the Antichrist 1 John 2:18 “Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.” and the Beast of Revelation 13:1 “And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads.”

He is given power for a period of three and a half years.

During this time he will persecute the people of God and seek the change everything to his liking.

He is profane, proud, and a persecutor, but he will be cut off!

The Kingdom of Christ

God Reigns Over All

He is Judge over all the affairs of all creation.

Jesus is the Son of Man

Jesus declared Himself to be the fulfillment of this prophecy.

Mark 14:61–62 ESV

But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.”

Jesus receives His inheritance

The kingdoms of this world are His inheritance.

Psalm 2:7–9 ESV

I will tell of the decree: The Lord said to me, “You are my Son; today I have begotten you. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your heritage, and the ends of the earth your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

We are his inheritance, and yet he shares the kingdom with us!
