RECOGNIZE we ARE IN A FIGHT AND HAVE AN ENEMY
RISE
8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
YOUR ENEMY, THE DEVIL, WANTS TO DEVOUR YOU!
ONE OF THE GREATEST WAYS TO RECOGNIZE SATAN IS BY READING GOD’S WORD
3 Tactics Satan Will Use:
Genesis 3:1 (ESV)
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”
3 Tactics Satan Will Use:
1. Satan wants you to QUESTION the Word of God! DID GOD….DOUBTS, WRESLTING WITH UNBELIEF OF COURSES
But questioning what God already said only leads to destruction.
Don’t EAT FROM THIS TREE……
DID God really say NOT TO LIE, NOT TO HAVE ANY OTHER IDOLS
NOT TO COMMIT ADULTERY……is that really what HE MEANT
THIS IS WHERE IT STARTS!! QUESTIONING IT TO JUSTIY OUR SIN
LOOK AT EVE’S REPLY: GOOD ANSWER BUT SHE SHOULDN’T HAVE EVEN ENTERTAINED THE ENEMY
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

THAT’S NOT TRUE. NO GOD WOULDN’T SAY THAT. SATAN WANTS TO TEMPT YOUR FEELINGS, YOUR CRAVINGS….
AGAIN IF U KNOW GOD’S WORD, THEN YOU KNOW SATAN’S LIES……..U CAN RECOGNIZE HIM
LASTLY: VERSE 5
5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
3. Satan will SUBSTITUTE his lie, for the Word of God
HE MAKE YOU THINK HE HAS SOMETHING BETTER!!
THAT’S WHY WE LIKE SIN…………SIN IS FUN, IT FEEDS OUR EVIL FLESH……ONLY TEMPORARY----THEN THE SHAME, THEN THE DESTRUCTION COMES.
THEN THE LION BEGINS TO DEVOUR YOU!!!!
YOURE IN A FIGHT. RECOGNIZE YOUR ENEMY, AND GET READY TO RISE UP IN VICTORY!!!!
WE KNOW GOD HAS WON THE WAR BUT I WANT TO WIN SOME BATTLES HERE!!!

King Darius---taken over the Babylonian territories LIKES HIM----top 3 adminstrators of all the kingdom and King is has planned to set him over all the kingdom----like his vicepresident
Others can’t find fault in Daniel---no corruption

5 Then these men said, “We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God.”
DEVISE A PLAN------THE ENEMY HAS A PLAN, BUT SO DOES GOD
SET UP A NEW LAW: ANYONE WHO PRAYS TO ANY GOD OR MAN DURING THE NEXT 30 DAYS, EXCEPT TO YOU O KING, SHALL BE THROWN INTO THE LIONS DEN

10 When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.

3 times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, JUST AS HE HAD DONE PREVIOUSLY!
CONSISTENT, EVERYDAY

16 So the king gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”
Put a stone over the mouth of the den, king seals it with his own signet ring DONE DEAL OR WAS IT

DON’T START PRAYING IN THE LIONS DEN
PRAYER MUST BE OUR 1ST RESPONSE NOT OUR LAST RESORT!
I DIDN’T FIND MY FATHER IN THAT HOSPITAL ROOM HOLDING MY MOM’S HAND, I STOOD ON MY FAITH!!
IT WAS MY ROCK, IT WAS MY FOUNDATION.......
HE’D RATHER DIE IN HIS CONVICTION, THEN LIVE WITH A COMPROMISE
KING DARIUS does eat, no netflix, no sleep
FIRST THING IN MORNING CHECK ON HIM
Daniel 6:20 (ESV)
20 As he came near to the den where Daniel was, he cried out in a tone of anguish. The king declared to Daniel, “O Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?”
VERSE 20 DID YOUR GOD, WHOM YOU SERVE CONTINUALLY RESCUE YOU
LISTEN TO DANIELS ANSWER IN VERSE 22
My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”
THE FIGHT IS WON THROUGH GOD’S HAND!
DANIEL DIDN’T SHUT THOSE LION’S MOUTHS
GOD DID IT…SENT AN.ANGEL, MINISTERING SPIRITS SERVING GOD….GUARDIAN ANGELS FIGHTING BATTLES AROUND US
CAR DRIVES, CLOSE CALLS.......
PACING LIONS---PROBABLY WHINING PACING STILL HUNGRY
LAST POINT: SO KING GETS RID OF WICKED LEADERS AND FAMS---STARVING LIONS RIP THEM TO SHREDS B4 THEY HIT THE GROUUND…..OVERPOWERED THEM AND CRUSHED ALL THEIR BONES
25 Then King Darius wrote to all the nations and peoples of every language in all the earth: “May you prosper greatly!
26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel. “For he is the living God and he endures forever; his kingdom will not be destroyed, his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves; he performs signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth. He has rescued Daniel from the power of the lions.”
28 So Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
