I must apologize, in the event I have been misunderstood. If at any time in these past almost 2 years, if all who have followed my lead have come to the conclusion that coming to worship in a temple is what you need to be known by God, I apologize. If you are here under the understanding that lifting up your hands and singing songs with the praise team, is all you needed to do to be known by God, I apologize. If pulling out your phones and wallets to give an offering is what you think will cause God to say enter in, I apologize.

If you find yourself in any category that I just mentioned or any that’s not mentioned please forgive me, but also be prepared to not only forgive swiftly but hear what the spirit is saying to the church! Come back!

And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

I have wondered for quite some time, what type of Leader I would be. Would I be a passive leader, an aggressive leader, one who is full of grace, one who corrects swiftly, one who is personable or one who is guarded, one who leads by words or one or leads by actions. Transparently I have quarreled internally with this so that my words could received and this ministry could move forward effectively and with an ease. I stand before you today repentant before the Lord because, I found out the my leadership style has nothing to do with me or with you but it has everything to do with HIM. I repent because I need to be the type of leader he needs me to be at any given point!

At times i need to be

Aggressive

passive

graceful

correcting

personable

guarded

Oratory

Exemplary

and more, my quarrel in leadership should not exist because I should always be striving to be what he needs me to be!

Summarize the Text!

Jesus is traveling and he is approached by 10 lepers

Leper-an individual whose flesh was over taken by a skin eating disease. In the book of Leviticus, the Leper, was to wear torn clothing, have their upper lip covered and their head shaven, they were to be live outside of the city limits and when they were near another person that did not have leprosy they were to yell out “unclean”

Can you imagine having to proclaim your indiscretions publicly as a warning to others to keep them away from you?

They see him and they raised their voices

There is always a need to cry out in prayer

Prayer! (Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.)

Closed mouths don’t get fed

rebuke suffering in silence

Jesus heals them by his words and their obedience

Everything starts by his word

Familiarize yourself with the WORD

Follow the instructions of his WORD

Your healing is tied to your obedience to his WORD

I found it very interesting that pre Christ, only 2 people are recorded to have ever been healed of Leprosy. Leprosy was often called “The Finger of God” as it was believed to be a curse directly due to sin from God.

We don’t see Leprosy so much physically today by title, but Leprosy is still very much in the Earth today but now it is more so evident spiritually.

Leprosy causes not only physical blemishes but it has a numbness to it’s affected areas, the disease causes a disconnection of the nerves, while some might think that this is a relieving symptom it actually might be the most damning affect of the whole disease, particularly spiritually. Spiritual leprosy suggests a numbness and or disconnect from the holy spirit. It suggests that we are so detached from the leading of the spirit that we are not even aware of it, and therefore all the more in danger. But how can we see leprosy spiritually?

This progressive loss of contact with the Holy Ghost makes spiritual leprosy as threatening to our souls as the physical disease is to our bodies.

But how do we get it? What causes the onset of the disease? Spiritual leprosy, like any disease, results from the combination of an environment and a response. We create the environment anytime we do something that offends the Spirit of the Lord. We have all been in such a position. It may be unkind words we have spoken to a roommate or a spouse; it may be the R-rated movie just seen, the seedy magazine or book read, an act of dishonesty, or maybe our conduct on a date. In any case what we have done is wrong, and we know it, often because we “feel bad.” It’s interesting, isn’t it, that we use exactly the same words to describe a spiritual condition that we might use to describe a physical condition?

Jesus answered this in Matthew 7:16 “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”

What are fruits of spiritual Lepers?

Galatians 5:19–21 (NASB 2020)

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior,

idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions,

envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Dissensions -quarrels, disunity, discord

Factions- cliques, smaller sects of a sect

You may not be able to feel disconnected but our fruit is showing forth and there is a need to pray and call forth Jesus into our situations, there is a need for hearing the word and obeying the word and finally there is a need to Come Back!

In the text it shows that 10 lepers were healed but only one came back. Luke 19:15-16

And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.

God is in the healing business and many who come to him are healed, but his people always come back to worship him!

His people see his works

Know that you’ve been healed

Walk in your healing

See your healing

Don’t just settle for a temporary Fix

Grow from Obedient Faith to Expectancy Faith

Worship!

Glorify God with a loud voice

Fall on your face

Give thanks

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Be made whole!

10 Lepers were healed 1 was made whole

Wholeness is completeness

Be complete in your healing

Be complete in your fullness

Be complete in your faith

be complete in your praying

be complete in your serving

Come back to the one that healed you and be complete,

Come back to the way

come back to the truth

come back to the life

come Back to Jesus

The author and the finisher of your faith

The healer of your sickness

The son of the Living God

Lord of Lords

The prince of Peace

The word made flesh

And once you’ve come back, he’ll make you whole by way of his Holy Spirit,

The spirit of knowledge

The spirit of Truth

The comforter

The revealer

The greater is he

The spirit that is speaking to the church!
