We are people of the future.
We are people of the future.
We talked briefly, and will go in much further details on Wednesday morning, about the future and our hope. We cannot forget where we are going!
We need to be people with good memories.
We need to be people with good memories.
We are not people of the past per se. We don’t just need to remember. We need to remember the “right” things.
Memories help motivate us to keep going.

The nation of Israel just completed a 40 year journey in the wilderness, and now were finally getting into the promise land. A new leader was also in charge. These stones from the Jordan River symbolized more than just that.
God is faithful.

This is a story of God’s faithfulness.
We must tell the critical stories of our life.

The Red Sea crossing and the Jordan River crossing are foundational to the nation of Israel. We cannot have one without the other. In fact, many of the phrases in Joshua 4 are identical to the story of the Exodus found in Exodus 12.31-42; 13.17-14.31.

As we look to be people of the Gospel and sharing the message of Jesus we must be good storytellers.
We are called to be good “celebrators”.

Not like the world celebrates nor maybe even the things the world celebrates but we must celebrate. This was part of the point of the festivals of the OT.
