Dealing with Life’s Turmoil PSALM 46 PROVISION TO SERVE 1.The presence of God removes fear in the middle of turmoil. 1-3 2.The presence of God brings security in the middle of turmoil. 4-7 3.God’s power over all humanity brings quietness to my soul. 8-11 GOD’S PRESENCE AND POWER ARE MY REFUGE IN THE TROUBLES OF LIFE. APPLICATION 1. We must be careful not to abandon what brings true peace in the midst of the hardships of life thinking that other avenues are the answer to our emotional and fearful struggles. God is the is the source of joy and peace. 2. Inner man stability is found by trusting in the reality of who God is and the reality of what God can and does do. APPLICATION 3. Take time to process the presence of God – not just as an abstract thought but as a reality. 4. Identify and write down what troubles your heart in your life – write next to it how the presence and power of God relate to that trouble. REST IN THE PRESENCE AND POWER OF GOD.
