Hope In The LORD

Hope Psalms 146: 5 Happy are those who are helped by the God of Jacob. Their hope is in the LORD their God. Psalms 146:5 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Hope Sings Psalms 42:5/Psalms 42:11/ Psalm 43:5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

One of 2004 Cook Communications Ministry commentators said , that David the writer this psalm, “understood that God was not just a part of life but the heart of life”. And that stuck because listen to the tint tone and title of the text today Hope In The Lord. God is not just a little part of our lives But God is supposed to be the very heartbeat of our lives.

And the Church said Amen Because if you get that in your heart on this Communion Sunday Morning you’ll be the richest wisest holiest and most blessed church in this area. Not just for show but for go. Not just to show up show out and to show off but actually demonstrate that we have a genuine heart for the things of God.

The text presents the word Hope 1x. The text presents the word Praises 5x and The text presents the sacred word LORD 11x.

Psalms 146 is a powerful Psalm. Psalms 146 is the start of the Hallelujah Psalms.. The writer David is trying to get God’s people pumped up and ready to go. Our Former President Barak Obama said we’ll fired up and ready to go!!! Are you fired up and ready to go? Are you ready to Hope in the Lord? Are you willing to fight back against the enemies of the Lord? because When We Fight We Win. And like Forest Forest Gum hp says “And That’s all I’ve got to say about that”. There are several powerful potent point in the text and for the next 10 minutes let’s extract them out of the text.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christian Friends, Well Wishers and Saints of God David starts of Psalms 146 by saying 1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul. He says Praise the LORD! My whole being, praise the LORD. Everything in me has come here this morning to Praise the Lord. My Whole being, My whole substance, My whole existence,and the totality of the whole person comes to Praise the Lord.

Tell your neighbor: Praise The Lord.

Psalms 147:11 says Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. and ends it with Praise ye the Lord.

Then Psalms 148:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights. 2 Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts. 3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. 4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens. and it ends with praise ye the Lord.

Then Psalms 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. And it ends with Praise ye the Lord. The lastly Psalms 150:1 Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. 2 Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. 3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. 4 Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. 5 Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. 6 Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. and the Last thing the book of Psalm say is Praise ye the LORD. The Hallelujah Psalms were written so that believers could see Hope in the Lord. Each Psalm had a different reason to Praise the Lord. But Like a TV show I’ve got to wrap this story up with a nice neat little bow in 20 minutes.

And so in our theme text the writer David vows perpetual Praises unto our God. And when you get to the place that you’re willing to give perpetual Praise unto God, Folk might think that you have lost your everlasting mind. But let them think whatever they want to because God is in Heaven writing down every time that you had an ample opportunity to Praise Him.Don’t you pass up your moment! I’ll Praise Him not matter what the circumstances are. David said in verse 2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being. David said as long as I have breath in my body I’ll Praise the Lord.

Brothers and sisters I don’t like fear mongering or gloom and doom preaching but I am sent to admonish and warn you about the contents of verses 3 &4 The word of power says “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. 4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.” My deacon spoke a powerful word to me and he said no organizations or worldly entities or social elites or professional fraternities have precedence of the Praise and worship of our God. No man in here is no God! No woman in here is no God! All of us is going to die and our thought will die with us. So when they die let them die and let new growth have the chance to blossom into whatever God would have it be.

And so having said thus, look at the theme verse for the day 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Our Hope in God ought to make us Happy. So what can we expect. His greatness, His grace, goodness, His compassion, His glory His Might, His righteousness, His kindness, His providential care and His Protection. Those are a few things I can Hope in the Lord for. They’re just a few things that I have expectations from God on.

I might not have a lot of stuff and things that people call successful.but I’m saved. Because Living he loved me dying he saved me buried he carried all my sins away. So I have great Hope in the Lord, because I know I am saved.

My salvation is tied to my Hope in the Lord.

Let’s read verse 5 again 5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

And so Verses 6&7 says Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: 7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: Briefly 1. In verse 6 God is the keeper of Truth, In Verse 7 God carries out Righteous Judgement, God is Jehovah Jireh the Lord our Provider He puts food on our table, and then finally the Lord sets us free from oppression. Ain’t God Alright. Yeah because the LORD IS MENTIONED 10X in Psalm 146.

The first 2 x in verses 1&2 the LORD was mentioned in the text for us to Praise the Lord. Shout Praise the LORD.

The 3rd x that the LORD is mentioned in the text is in verse 5 and it was for us to Have Hope in the LORD. My Hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness.

The 4th x that The LORD is mentioned is in verse 6 and it teaches talks and tells us that God made the Heaven and the earth and the seas.

The 5th x the LORD is mentioned is in verse 7 because the LORD looseth the prisoners: I don’t care what have you bounded God can loose you from it.

The 6th x that The LORD is mentioned in the text is in verse 8 and it’s for opening the eyes of the blind: I once was lost but now I am found I was blind but thank God now I can see.

The 7th x the LORD is mentioned in the text is in the 8 th verse again when He raised them that are bowed down: If you’re bowed down God will pick you up again. Tell your neighbor God can Pick U up

The 8th x that the LORD is mentioned in the text is because God loves righteous people: GOD loves when we live right

The 9th x that The LORD is mentioned in this text because He preserveth the strangers; In others God is no respect of persons what He did for one He can do for another.

The 10th x that the LORD is mentioned in the text is because God relieves the fatherless and care for the widow:

The 11th x that the LORD is mentioned in the text is because in verse 10 The bible says “ The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.

And as I close here today I want to be clear to say that we ought to Hope in the LORD.
