Pray for your Church Leaders (Pastors)
The pastor is a man. The pastor is a sinful man in need of a mighty God. The pastor is called to a godly character, to constantly check himself, to watch himself and his doctrine closely. The pastor is to study to show himself approved, to be a model of Christianity and an example to others.
He must preach, knowing that every sermon is for him and he must preach every sermon better than he can live it.
The pastor must correct, rebuke, and exhort others. He must teach with all authority. He must lay down his life for his family and his flock and give his service to God… Sometimes laboring for long periods of time without seeing any positive results.
The pastor visits, calls, prays and disciples. He is in hospitals. He never does enough. He feels like a failure very often. He gets sick, he is overwhelmed, he is emotionally spent, and thinks about leaving ministry to dig ditches from time to time...
The pastor is under attack from the evil one always, trying to get him to stumble and to make a public display of the pastor by making him fall...
The pastor that preaches and teaches the Word of God faithfully is a threat to the devil. Demons want to deceive and to keep the people believing lies, living in confusion, and disorder.
The faithful pastor calls that out and leads people to the truth. The demons must get the pastor out… one way or another.
The pastor and his whole family are under a microscope, and the critics never stop. The negativity never ends. The accusations continue on.
Few families face the kinds of pressure and expectations as the families of pastors.
All church leaders need prayer. We must pray for the pastor’s and their families.
Church members must be prayer intercessors for church leaders and their families.
The pastor will give an account for your souls one day. The pastor will be judged more strictly than anyone else...
Pray for his ministry. Pray for his physical and mental health. Pray for God to fill him with wisdom and discernment.
I am a church member. I will pray for my pastor every day.
