1 John 5:14–15 “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him

Top 10 Irrefutable Truths About Prayer
10. Your Prayers Must Contain Faith
Prayer without faith! What sort of prayer is it? It is the prayer of a man who does not believe in God.
Charles Spurgeon
James 5:15–16 “And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Matthew 7:11 “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
9. You Have To Be In A Constant Attitude Of Prayer
Romans 12:12 “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Ephesians 6:18 “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”
Luke 18:1 “And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.”
8. You Have To Learn To Be Patient
Galatians 5:22 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”
James 5:8 “You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.”
7. You Have To Be Living Right
Our lives must be as holy as our prayers.

Proverbs 15:29 “The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.”
Pure prayers have pure blessings.

6. You Have To Have Thankfulness
O Lord, that lends me life,
Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness.
William Shakespeare
Philippians 4:6–7 “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Psalm 100 “A Psalm for giving thanks. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
Colossians 4:2 “Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
5. You Have To Forgive Those That Wronged You
Why you say? Because Jesus did!
Luke 23:34 “And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” And they cast lots to divide his garments.”
Matthew 6:9–13 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
Matthew 5:44 “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”
4. We are to pray for our country and its leaders, even if you like them or agree with them.
In encouraging hospital staff to allow ministers to pray and read Scriptures with the soldiers, President Abraham Lincoln stated:
If there were more praying and less swearing, it would be far better for our country, and we all need to be prayed for, officers as well as privates; and if I were near death, I think I should like to hear prayer.2346
Abraham Lincoln (Sixteenth President of the United States)
1 Timothy 2:1–2 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
3. You Have To Have The Confidence That He Will Help You
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Luke 18:1 “And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.”
Matthew 6:6 “But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
2. You Have To Remember The Power Of The Holy Spirit Is In You
Romans 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.”
Galatians 4:6 “And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
You Have To Remember That Jesus Is At The Right Hand Of The Father Making Intercession For You
God the Holy Ghost writes our prayers, God the Son presents our prayers, and God the Father accepts our prayers. And with the whole Trinity to help us in it, what cannot prayer perform?
Charles Spurgeon
To this day, Jesus continues to pray for His own from His exalted position in heaven at the right hand of God. Scripture says He makes intercession for those who belong to Him. That blessing has never stopped. Jesus will continue to bless those who come to God through faith in Christ
Hebrews 7:25 “Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.”
Romans 8:34 “Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.”
God can listen to no prayers without the intercession of Christ.
John Calvin (French Reformer)
1 John 2:1 “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.”
Hebrews 4:14 “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.”
Jesus’s Blessing Has Never Stopped
Luke 24:51 “While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.”
Jesus’s blessing wasn't just for the disciples, it was for us too!
John 17:20–21 ““I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
Jesus Praying In The Garden Of Gethsemane
Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane just before His arrest. He had asked His disciples to pray with Him, but they fell asleep instead. Jesus’ agonized prayer in the garden is a model of submission and sacrifice: “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will” (verse 39). Three times Jesus prayed this.
Matthew 26:39 “And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”
In fact the bible tells us God strengthened Him
Luke 22:43 “And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.”
Dear Lord, He Suffered so just for me and you...
Three prayers on the cross:
Three prayers on the cross:
1. “Father forgive them; for they know not what they do”
Luke 23:34 “And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
2. “My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
Matthew 27:46 (ESV)
And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?” that is, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
3. “It is finished.”
John 19:30 “When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.”
John 4:34 “Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.”
And boy did He ever accomplish it! That’s how He could say “It is finished.”
