Kingdom of grace
we need to know the kingdom - its foundation, its purpose, its processes
the kingdom has to be true to Jesus and to itself
Exodus 34:6–7 NIV
And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children and their children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.”
he then descibes his nature, and by extension the nature of the kingdom
his first title is compassionate and gracious God
Throne of Grace
Hebrews 4:16 NIV
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
the throne is representative of the kingdom
it is defined by the king and is symbolic in every aspect
the authority and the power in the Kingdom is GRACE
it is my contention that kingdom culture is totally based on grace
The Godhead
God Almighty is the source of grace
Jesus is the person of grace
Holy Spirit is the spirit of grace
Scripture in the word of grace
believers are the vessels of grace
God Almighty
he sits on the throne of grace - Hebrews 4:16
Revelation 22 verses 1 and 2
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city
river of living water flowing from thethrone of grace
life and grace cannot be separated, must be considered one and the same
grace in all of its expression of love and mercy, creative and encouraging
this is what immerses each of us
it is our obligation to live in this flow of grace
Jesus Christ
Hebrews 1:3 NIV
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Jesus is one with God - no dispute on this point
so Jesus is the exactness of his Father in authority and power, in word and deed
Jesus is pure grace - he gave an unmerited gift of eternal life
he had provided purification
John 8:28 NIV
So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.
jesus speaks grace first and foremost
all his actions is derived from these gracious words
our response is simple
1 John 2:6 NIV
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
The Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:13 NIV
This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual realities with Spirit-taught words.
there is a transfer of grace from heaven to us
Jesus had to provide the way through the cross
yet the Spirit had to be given to seal the deal
our heart, our spirit was wiped clean
a new heart , a new spirit was installed
1 Corinthians 2:12 NIV
What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
this is no mystery but the grace of God for us
we can now know and understand God
we can know walk as Jesus walked as vessels of grace in a dark world
2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV
And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
