Introduction:
I. Faith in the Family is marked by submission.

A. Christlike submission.
i) 1 Corinthians 11:3 “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.”
ii) Christ is submissive to the will of the Father.
B. Christ honoring submission.
i). Ephesians 5:22 “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”
ii). Husbands Don’t have Lordship they have been entrusted with leadership.
iii) Wives are to respect their husbands Ephesians 5:33 “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”
iv) Wives are to Love their husbands Titus 2:4 “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,”

A. Husbands are to Love their wives.
i) The word Love here is translated from the Greek word agape.
ii) Ephesians 5:25 “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”
iii) Ephesians 5:33 “Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”
B. Husbands are to Lead their Wives.
i) Ephesians 5:28–29 “So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:”

A. Obedience is proof of Faith.
i) Ephesians 6:1 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.”
B. Obedience is service to the Lord.
i) Ephesians 6:2 “Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)”

i) Ephesians 6:4 “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
