Faith for Living:

Notes
Transcript
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

How many of us believe that we are saved?

Romans 10:8–11 NKJV
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

1. Why do we trust God for our eternity but not for today?

Philippians 4:19–20 NKJV
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 20 Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:11 NKJV
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Psalm 55:22 NKJV
22 Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

We do this because we are walking in flesh.

We Usually start talking about fear.....

What if it is not fear that we are wrestling with what if it is the flesh.

Romans 8:4–11 NKJV
4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

2. The flesh, by it’s nature is self serving and self seeking.

The flesh bases it’s opinion on it’s senses:

1. Sight.

2. Smell.

3. Touch.

4. Taste.

5. Hearing.

The flesh works on what it can prove rather than on what the Lord has said.

2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
1 Corinthians 9:27 NKJV
27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
the flesh is only concerned about itself.
Psalm 34:10 NKJV
10 The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.
2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

3. True faith begins and ends with action.

James 2:26 NKJV
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
1 Corinthians 2:9 NKJV
9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
