King Nebuchadnezzar was raised by God and was given the dominion and rule over all children of the earth, the birds of heaven and the beasts of the earth.
God spoke to him by answering the thoughts of his mind through giving him a dream. Daniel 2:28-30
Daniel 2:28–30 ESV
28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and he has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed are these: 29 To you, O king, as you lay in bed came thoughts of what would be after this, and he who reveals mysteries made known to you what is to be. 30 But as for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because of any wisdom that I have more than all the living, but in order that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that you may know the thoughts of your mind.
He like all man had thoughts while laying down on his bed.
It is these thoughts that led to dream and to visions.
What type of thoughts are we keeping on the bed at night.
Daniel 4:5 and Daniel 7:15 confirms the thoughts on the bed contributing to visions and dreams.

5 I saw a dream that made me afraid. As I lay in bed the fancies and the visions of my head alarmed me.
Daniel 7:15 ESV
15 “As for me, Daniel, my spirit within me was anxious, and the visions of my head alarmed me.
So we can affect the dreams we have by our thoughts before falling asleep. Either in a negative or in a positive way depending on whether we keep good thoughts or bad thoughts.
A christian should expect God to speak a message to them everyday when laying on the bed.
Keep a notebook on the side of the bed because some dreams and visions are like vapour.
The book of Micah 2:1 gives emphasis to the power that man receive while laying on the bed through visions and dreams that come. Through these direction is given on what to act upon in the day.

1 Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.
Psalm 63:6 ESV
6 when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
Job 33:14–15 ESV
14 For God speaks in one way, and in two, though man does not perceive it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, while they slumber on their beds,
Daniel 4:10 ESV
10 The visions of my head as I lay in bed were these: I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of the earth, and its height was great.

13 “I saw in the visions of my head as I lay in bed, and behold, a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven.
Daniel 7:1 ESV
1 In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon, Daniel saw a dream and visions of his head as he lay in his bed. Then he wrote down the dream and told the sum of the matter.
Numbers 12:6 (ESV)
6 And he said, “Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream.
What can we do with these lessons:
Guard carefully what is on your mind before bed time
Pray the Lord will free your mind from spirits that occupy and hide themselves in your minds
Ask the Lord to cleans your eyes from the things you saw that will interfere with hearing God
Ask the Lord to clean your heart from issues that rose from words spoken and words heard that will interfere with your dreams and visions of the night.
Meditate the word by repeating the same phrase over and over again
Read scriptures before bed
Listen to worship And praises before bed
God to bed when you’re still awake and able to think, not always must you fall asleep unaware.
All in all, clear your mind of unwanted things
