Acts 19-28—Wayne
Main Points to cover:
Reaching the Lost
Acts 10 — Peter instructed to go take the Gospel to Cornelius (Compare with Ananias going to Saul of Tarsus — The Gospel breaks down barriers!)
Acts 11:19–21 NKJV
Now those who were scattered a"er the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only. But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus. And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
Acts 13:4 NKJV
So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
Acts 13:42–44 NKJV
So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.
On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God.
Acts 14:1 NKJV
Now it happened in Iconium that they went together to the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke that a great multitude both of the Jews and of the Greeks believed. Acts 14:21–22 NKJV
And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
Acts 16 — The Macedonian Call (Lystra and The Jailor in Phillipi)
Acts 17 — Thessalonica
Sermon on Mars Hill (Acts 17:22-34)

Stephen (Acts 6-7)
Philip (Acts 7-8)
Persecution
May have actually caused growth by pushing members to leave the safety of Jerusalem and be evangelistic (Acts 8:4). Persecution also creates opportunities for benevolence which is connected to growth of the Church, as well (Jas. 1:2-4; 1 Pet. 1:6-7)
Missionary Journeys.
Were completely dedicated to the Lord, willing to forsake all, even their own life for the Lord, e.g., Stephen (Ch. 7) and James (Ch. 12).
Were united in doctrine (Acts 2:42; 4:32, etc.).
Loved each other enough to sacrifice for and help each other, including material needs (Acts 2:44f; 4:32-37).
Were fervently evangelistic (Acts 5:28,42; 8:4; 14-21).
Were people of prayer (Acts 2:42; 4:24; 12:15,22).
Gladly received and studied the word of God (Acts 2:41; 17:11).
Shined as a light for the Lord (Acts 2:47; 4:13; 17:6).
Spoke the truth, even when it hurt (Acts 20:20,26,27).
Were so dear to each other that they wept when they had to part from each other (Acts 20:37,38).
Worshiped God in spirit and truth (Acts 2:42; 20:7).
Had the courage to obey God rather than men when there was a conflict (Acts 5:29).
Were filled with the joy of being a Christian (Acts 2:46; 8:39; 16:34).
Were satisfied to be just Christians (Acts 11:26).
Rejoiced to be counted worthy to suer for Jesus (Acts 5:41; 14:22; 16:23-25).
