Eating is Believing - v35-40, 47-49

Bread from Heaven
Manna - v49-51 (Exodus 16)
Whom God sends - v43-45
God sent Manna to whom?
It was God who chose when, where, and how much to send. It is still God who works in a mysterious way above our comprehension.
John 3:8 “The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.””
Bread, Divine wind, Flesh and Blood, Jesus is bringing these word pictures to speak about faith; about coming to Christ Jesus specifically in believing.

Eating is Living - v53-58

Internalizing

Romans 2:28 “For no one is a Jew who is merely one outwardly, nor is circumcision outward and physical.”
Romans 10:10 “For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
Nourishing
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Eating is Continuing

If in this text, eating the flesh of Christ and drinking His blood is coming to Him in faith; taking His person and His Word inside you, relying upon His rescue and His Lordship, then let us never stop eating. Let there be no facet of our lives that is done apart from this particular feast, and may we ever more have a taste to seek just that.
Eat to be saved
Eat to defend your heart
Eat to defend your home
Eat to defend your labors
Eat to build your church
Church Family, Christ lays Himself out to be feasted on in faith. While this imagery is brought into the Holy Communion, this is about a daily expression of faith in Him. This is a feast that will continue to the end of the world. Let us feast!
