Jeremiah 1:5 ““Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.””
God is the beginning and the end
God created us with a plan in mind
God sanctified or set us apart for his specific use
God has ordained (selected) us for a His ministry

Jeremiah 1:6–7 “Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.”
Jeremiah’s excuse; “Behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.”
Jeremiah can rest knowing that he will speak what God tells him to speak; “Whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.”
God’s Presence

Jeremiah 1:8–9 “Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord. Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.”
God tells Jeremiah “I am with you” to keep you safe.
Jeremiah does not need to be afraid.
