Hearing from the Word:

Now I want to encourage and remind you what it takes to have a great life giving marriage. Ephesians 5 says,
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,” - Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭22‬-‭25‬ ‭
So really in order for marriage to be what God defined and designed, you ready for this, it requires both of you to die to selfishness more than you have ever in your life. Jesus calls us to die to self and follow Him, AND when we step into a marriage covenant with someone it takes that dying to self to a whole other level, because you are with them constantly, but when we do this as Christ commands you get a marriage that is life giving to each other, and stands even in the toughest of times.
So now if both of you are committed to dying to self and follow Jesus, you will have a great marriage.
Also from the very start in Genesis 3 tells us about our problem of sin, and how we are prone to hide when we make mistakes, but if you will do your best to commit to run to God and not away from Him, both of you, don’t not hide from God and do not hide from each other. Pursue Him and it will help you to pursue each other the right and healthy way.
OKAY,

Marriage Vows:

VOWS: GROOM and BRIDE please take each others hands and face each other. PARKER repeat after me.
GROOM: I, GROOM, take you BRIDE, to be my wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish until we are separated by death; as God is my witness, I give my promise.
BRIDE: I, BRIDE, take you GROOM, to be my husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health; to love and to cherish until we are separated by death; as God is my witness, I give my promise.
Having this kind of love you have chosen to exchange rings as the sign and seal of the vows you are making today. May we please have the rings. (MAY I HAVE THE RINGS) As you wear these rings, whether you are together or apart for a moment, may they be constant reminders of these promises and the commitment you are making today.
GROOM: GROOM , will you take your ring and place it on the third finger of BRIDE’s lefthand, and repeat after me, this promise, saying,
“With this ring, I seal my promise, to be your faithful and loving husband, as God as my witness.”
BRIDE: BRIDE , will you take your ring and place it on the third finger of GROOM’s left hand, and repeat after me, this promise, saying,
“With this ring, I seal my promise, to be your faithful and loving wife, as God as my witness.”

Challenge to Encourage for those who are Present:

PARENTS: Do you promise, to encourage GROOM & BRIDE and pray for their marriage, to present an example of love and devotion for them to emulate, and to help them build a strong home for themselves, and their family? If so, respond by saying “We do!”
THOSE PRESENT: There is a reason you all are here because GROOM and BRIDE think a lot of you, so will you all promise to pray and encourage them as they make this covenant of Marriage? If so, respond by saying “We do!”

Pray:

ENCOURAGE EVERYONE to Pray.

Pronouncement & Kiss:

GROOM and BRIDE based on the promises and the commitments you have made today through your actions and words. I therefore pronounce you are husband and wife. May God bless you, keep you, and give you His peace. What God has joined together, let no man separate.
