Ephesians 2:8–9 NKJV

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Once we get saved, we start life as a Christian.

The Bible is written to Christians, not unbelievers.

We all know what a Christian’s life is supposed to look like.

Works (performance)

Jesus removed the requirement of the law.

Romans 8:3–4 NKJV

3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Before Jesus, the only way to be right with God was to perfectly fulfill the law.
