1. The Revelation of Authority

Authority in Teaching.

Authority over Demons (23-28)

1 Peter 5:8 ESV
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Authority Over Diseases (29-34)

2. The Reaction to Authority

We exercise this authority when we share the gospel. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We exercise this authority when we stand firm again Satan and his tactics. (James 4:7) “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
We exercise this authority when we pray. (Matthew 21:21 NIV) Jesus replied, "Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done.
