On July 23, 2024, we lost our beautiful mom, some called her Genna, Rita Sue Young at the age of 73.
She was born on October 12, 1950 to Steve A and Jessie M Guinn. Rita Sue was a real go-getter.
She went to McClain High School in Tulsa, OK graduating in 1968. After graduating she moved to
Tahlequah, OK where she lived with her mom, dad, and grandmother. After moving she worked for
Heritage printing and later owned her own print shop for a few years before moving to Okmulgee
County in 1990. She was employed by the Water District in Schulter, OK.
In 1993 she met the love of her life, Leonard Young. They were happily married until his passing
November of 2005. They loved to camp, fish, and spend as much time as they could with their grandson A.J. Ash.
This past year she got to see her great-grandson Arthur Jameson born and enjoyed spending time with him until she passed in July.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Young, Her parents Steve and Jessie Guinn, and two brothers Greg and Stevie Guinn.
She is survived by one sister Paulette Moss and husband Gary of Tahlequah; one daughter Stephanie
Ash of Okmulgee; one grandson Alex Ash and wife Lisa of Okmulgee; three great-grandchildren Arthur

Scripture
Scripture
2 Because he bends down to listen,
I will pray as long as I have breath!
3 Death wrapped its ropes around me;
the terrors of the grave overtook me.
I saw only trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“Please, Lord, save me!”

Lyrics from “O Come To The Alter”
Verse 1 [describes our condition]
Are you hurting and broken within
Overwhelmed by the weight of your sin
Jesus is calling
4 For my sins overwhelm me;
like a heavy load, they are too much for me to bear.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Have you come to the end of yourself
Do you thirst for a drink from the well
Jesus is calling
[Jesus and the woman at the well]
10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”
13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”
Chorus
(an act of faith) O come to the altar
(acceptance) The Father's arms are open wide
(forgiveness) Forgiveness was bought with
(love) The precious blood of Jesus Christ
rom. 10.9
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Verse 2 [our next steps]
Leave behind your regrets and mistakes
Come today there's no reason to wait
Jesus is calling
10 For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
12 They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.
Bring your sorrows and trade them for joy
From the ashes a new life is born
Jesus is calling
Isaiah 61.3
3 To all who mourn in Israel,
he will give a crown of beauty for ashes,
a joyous blessing instead of mourning,
festive praise instead of despair.
In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks
that the Lord has planted for his own glory.
Hear this prophetic word in action...
11 You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.
You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,
12 that I might sing praises to you and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!
Chorus [hear these actions again]
O come to the altar (an act of your will)
The Father's arms are open wide (full acceptance)
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ (forgiveness through the power of LOVE!)
10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
Instrumental
Bridge [our declaration]
Oh what a Savior
Isn't he wonderful
Sing alleluia
Christ is risen
(don’t hold out — come today— Christ is praying for you to take the next step for the best part of your life today!)
Bow down before him
For he is Lord of all
Sing alleluia
Christ is risen
10 And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.
Chorus
O come to the altar
(there is no need to carry around the heaviness that sin breeds in us when Jesus is right hear and he wills to remove that weight today.)
The Father's arms are open wide
Forgiveness was bought with
The precious blood of Jesus Christ
(look to the person to your right and say, “there is forgiveness for you.”)
(look to the person to your left and say, “there is forgiveness for me.”)
Verse 3: persevere with grit
Bear your cross as you wait for the crown
Tell the world of the treasure you've found
QUOTE:
“A man can never be the same after hearing God’s truth spoken in the power of God’s Holy Spirit; he will either obey and go forward, or ignore and die a little.”

Next Steps and Prayer
Next Steps and Prayer
We have a Great Hope
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted;
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Lean into Jesus again and again
Lean into Jesus again and again—We do not walk the aisle just one time and again and again… And each day break and the setting of this. We do not walk the aisle just one time and then sit back… No, we should lean into Father at each daybreak and every setting of the sun.
This body is wasting away BUT...
16 So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace.
God’s Peace is not lost but we do have to receive it
—it is a free gift!
Nurture and share God love, acceptance, and forgiveness
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
