Join us as we look back.
4 years ago, Dr A spoke at a woman’s conference, and we have the message on our ministry YouTube page.
She started by telling her story, which we know has now led to a powerful women’s ministry today. (Pages of Her)
This particular message was titled:
There’s only one way to renew your mind.
There’s only one way to renew your mind.
As she spoke about the broken home she grew up in she made a powerful statement:
You can’t grow up in a home of brokenness and not be broken!
(God has a plan on how he wants a family to be function.)
But all hope is not loss if you grew up in a broken home.
And just because your parents might not have been following God, doesn’t mean God doesn’t have a plan for your life.
Your answer is in your encounter with Christ.
When I look at the original apostles in the bible every one of them had a true encounter with Christ and they never looked back.
In her story she told about that moment when we gave our lives to the Lord that Sunday morning 33 years ago and that we went all in for the LORD.
However, we were still broken.
Us giving our lives to the Lord was just the beginning.
Now it was time to roll up our sleeves and go to work on our old ways of thinking.
There were times we thought our marriage was the worse ever.
But what we had was some bad history on both sides that didn’t blend well.
She said that a big problem is that in this life we think that our life is our own.
And if it is then you’re going to be responsible for fixing everything.
But for a Believer it’s not.
It belongs to God.
Once you say, “I do” to God, you must pick up his word and begin the renewing of your mind.

3-4 For although we live in the natural realm, we don’t wage a military campaign employing human weapons, using manipulation to achieve our aims. Instead, our spiritual weapons are energized with divine power to effectively dismantle the defenses behind which people hide.

5 We can demolish every deceptive fantasy that opposes God and break through every arrogant attitude that is raised up in defiance of the true knowledge of God. We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.

6 Since we are armed with such dynamic weaponry, we stand ready to punish any trace of rebellion as soon as you choose complete obedience.

We capture every thought that is not in line with God.
We need to wage war against these thoughts or the way we think.
Romans 8:6-10 NKJV
Romans 8:6-10 NKJV
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

The carnal mind is an enemy of God so we can’t be okay not learning to walk spiritually in step with the way our God thinks.

Dr. A taught a message titled:
Stay Plugged In
Stay Plugged In
She gave an example of trying to get an extension cord to give out power to a smart device without being plugged in to the power source which is the electrical outlet.
It can’t happen.
There is nothing wrong with the extension cord other than it not being plugged in.
In the same way there is nothing wrong with us as a Christian/Believer, but we are not producing the fruit that God expects us to when we are not plugged into Him who is the source of power.
We see this in scripture in John Chapter 15.
John 15:2-6 NKJV
John 15:2-6 NKJV
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.
Just as a branch cannot survive or produce fruit if it is separated from the vine, believers cannot thrive spiritually or bear spiritual fruit unless they remain connected to Christ.
Branches that do not produce fruit, indicate a lack of true connection to the vine.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the vine.
If a branch is not bearing fruit, there is something wrong with its connection to the vine.
And she said that most people’s connection issue are the distractions of this present world.
(T.V., social media, gaming, music, eating yourself to sleep, partying etc.)

Recently Dr. A taught a message titled:
Is it your Rebellion/Consequences that’s costing you your life?
Is it your Rebellion/Consequences that’s costing you your life?
People ask these questions.
I don’t understand why I’m still going through this stuff I’m dealing with.
Your sins are costing you!
When you choose to operate opposed to the ways of God, consequences are inevitable.
People are asking God to forgive them, thinking, that will get them out of the trouble their going through.
If you’ve asked God for forgiveness, He’s forgiven you.
But that doesn’t null and void the consequences of your choices.
*We had sex and got pregnant.
*I was speeding again and lost my license.
*I ate too much fried foods and sweets and got health issues.
*I called in too many times for work and lost my job.
Bad choices lead to negative consequences.
She looked at the life of King David after he was confronted by Nathan the prophet about his treatment of Bathsheba and Uriah the Hittite.
2 Samuel 12:7-14 NKJV
2 Samuel 12:7-14 NKJV
Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. And if that had been too little, I also would have given you much more! 9 Why have you despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in His sight? You have killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword; you have taken his wife to be your wife and have killed him with the sword of the people of Ammon. 10 Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’ 11 Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will raise up adversity against you from your own house; and I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun. 12 For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, before the sun.’”
Then Nathan said to David, “You are the man! Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you from the hand of Saul. 8 I gave you your master’s house and your master’s wives into your keeping and gave you the house of Israel and Judah. 13 So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”
13 So David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”
And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. 14 However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”
And Nathan said to David, “The Lord also has put away your sin; you shall not die. 14 However, because by this deed you have given great occasion to the enemies of the Lord to blaspheme, the child also who is born to you shall surely die.”
King David broke the bro code. (He took one of his main soldiers woman.) Consequences!
David’s actions revealed a lack of self-control and restraint in the face of temptation.
The consequences for his sin were that Bathsheba’s child was going to die, even though he tried to cover it up by putting a hit out on her husband and then marrying her.
David’s family was plagued with ongoing violence and strife.
David lost three of his sons to death during his lifetime.
The point of the message is that you would learn to walk in the ways of the LORD and not contrary to His ways.
