Scripture
the word of grace

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
from the mind of Christ into the written word
the logos has grace imbedded in every word, every phrase
requires the Holy Spirit to bring that grace to life

the prophets did this intensity

Followers of Jesus
the recipients of grace
In the beginning
Genesis 1:26 NIV
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Genesis 2:7 NIV
Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
we are made in God’s image
we have grace in our DNA
the Fall has corrupted that grace
Redemption
1 Corinthians 15:45 NIV
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit.
Jesus is a life giving spirit
life is sustained by grace, flowing from the very throne of God Almighty
we are vessels of grace
Vessels of Grace
a vessel is meant to be full
we are meant to be full of grace
too often the things of the world, the cravings of the flesh drain grace from us
grace plugs holes in us
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
we work in the strengths God has given us
we allow God to work in our weaknesses
bottom line - Let Christ’s power to come forth in strength and in weakness
Messengers of Grace

the good news of the grace of Jesus

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
my aim is to finish the race
my mission is to complete the task
the task to testify the good news of God’s grace
we rely on the Spirit, the Word and the Messengers to know this good news
Colossians 4:6 NIV
Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
Ambassadors of Grace
2 Corinthians 5:20 NIV
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
we act as ambassadors of God
we represent the Kingdom of God
we are supposed to reflect the grace of Jesus in our every dealing
2 Corinthians 6:1 NIV
As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.
together we work for God
do not waste the opportunity of receiving God’s grace
allow his grace to dominate our life, our everyday encounters
1 Peter 4:10 NIV
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
it is simple - know your giftings
what are you passionate about
recognize, develop and utilize those giftings
