All Have Sinned
All Have Sinned
Lets read-
Romans 3:23–24 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;”
Sin came into the world thru Adam, It is paid for thru Christ.
Ive heard this story. {talk about always hearing this one verse}
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Notice the word (ALL). not some, but ALL. This ALL refers to both Jews and Gentiles alike. Gentiles are anyone who is not Jewish.
What is sinned? Anyone who has broken the laws of GOD
James 2:10–11 “For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not commit murder.” Now if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the law.
That person is a lawbreaker.
To Fall Short- meaning to miss the mark, to not live upto who we are supposed to be, to not meet expectations, But here its so much more than that. to fall short in this verse is not reaching GOD. Theres a gulf between us with no bridge.
GODs Glory- and what is falling short of GODS Glory? I like how “The Expositors Bible Commentary” states it “falling short of Gods Glory is to miss out on His Divine presence and the privilege man originally had of direct communion with GOD.
Can you believe at one time Adam walked with God and communicated with Him directly.
being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;
Being Justified - To be acquitted of , declared righteous, we are no longer declared guilty of being sinners.
We receive this as a gift from GOD. freely receiving, we did not not earn this gift by works, or deeds or being better than anyone else. We received this gift by GODs Grace.
To expound on Grace- Grace is God giving us what we do not deserve. Along with that His Mercy which is GOD not giving us what we do deserve which is HIS full Wrath.
Ive heard this saying quite a few times over the years its an acronym for the word grace

Exspense
Redemption - To be freed after a debt was paid. How was it paid By Christ, His dying on the cross paid the debt due to GOD in order for us to receive salvation. Notice that it is not our faith that pays the debt. Our faith is what is necessary to receive GODS grace.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God;
not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
But it was Christ who stood as our “propitiation” what a great word with alot of meaning. He took what we deserve and stood in our place. He took the punishment for all of us. He is the only one capable of satisfying the payment due GOD.
Christ - latin is Christos, translated from the Septuagint word messiah meaning “anointed one” someone special as in set apart. this was usually done
