Fear of God
Fear of God
Intro:
Used to go to parties, but never enjoyed
More worried to see if others were having fun
If my outfit was looking good
If I wasnt looking dumb dancing to music
Lived in Anxiety because the “Freedom” our culture shows is the biggest LIE
Its an unspoken need to be “Approved” by others
You feel TRAPPED
Transition:
THIS is our biggest enemy
Trapped on the inside, to APPEAR free on the out
“Thats why i say Fear? Nah.”

Scripture:
Isaiah 51:12-16
Give context
God uses Isaiah to go and bring HOPE to israel that were in captivity to the babylonians for 70 years
He was trying to break a mindset of CAPTIVITY
The time period between them being captive to the babylonians and entering the promise was 820 years apart
“Listen or you’ll miss it”
Transition:
This isnt the first time since they entered the promise and they were stuck
Out of the 820 years they were constantly oppressed for 350 of them
Thats almost half of the time since they stepped into the promise
They lived a life of never living the fullness of the promise of the lord
Juice:
You can physically enter into the promise of the Lord and never live in the promise of the Lord
The Israelites for almost half this period were constantly opressed because, of disobedience and a mindset of fear of man
Subpoint:
When you see obedience in the eyes of a slave, you live like one
When you see obedience in the eyes of a son, you understand the promise
But we try to put down obedience
Salvation without obedience contradicts its self
you cant live one without other
Transition:
The same way you cant live the promises of the Lord with the fear of man
Its creates something in us where if we fear man instead of God we fear everything else instead of God
But when you have the fear of the Lord you fear nothing else but the Lord
What fear of man does:
It controls your decisions
Youre so scared of what others will say that youll compromise your values just to fit in
It silences faith
We get scared to start a Jesus Club, Talk about jesus or simply say were christian because of the fear of rejection, or getting judged.
We lose confidence
Because of this constant worry it creates insecurity and anxeity in us
You become a hypocrite
It constantly makes us live a life of putting on different masks just to avoid criticism
We lose friendships
Youre so focused on pleasing others that your friendships arent genuine
It makes you fake
Visual Analogy
Pill to swallow:
The fear of man doesn’t just make you fake; it makes your entire life a performance where you prioritize applause over being real. You settle for being liked instead of being loved, and in the end, you realize that you’ve built relationships with masks, and not with people.
- You’ll never truly belong anywhere because no one ever really knows you.
Transition to tes.:
“Nossa Lucas”
I say this because THIS was me
people pleased all throughout high school to eventually see how much i wasted what the Lord gave me
