John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
1. God created you to live in intimate fellowship with Him.
God is the Creator of everything.
When God created humans, He set us apart from the other animals by creating us in His own image.
God created us and was very pleased!
Genesis 1:27, 1:31
Genesis 1:27 ESV
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:31 ESV
And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
God created us to have intimate fellowship with Him.
He also created us to be His partners in this world.
God created us to live a God-centered life and gave humanity the authority to have dominion over creation.
We are the crown of God’s creation, His masterpiece, created to live in intimate fellowship with Him.
2. However, we were cut off from intimate fellowship with God because of sin.
The result of the Fall was humanity being cut off from having an intimate fellowship with God.
We are lost God’s will and purpose for our existence.
We become aware of our sin when we stand before God’s Word.
The root of sin lies in a self-centered worldview.
The Bible says that we have all sinned.
Romans 3:23 ESV
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
3. But God did not abandon us. In order to reconcile us to Himself and restore intimate fellowship, God sent His son Jesus Christ into this world.
God sent His son to deliver us from our bondage to sin, death and Satan.
The reason God sent His Son Jesus Christ was because of His great love toward us.
John 3:16 ESV
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus died on the cross for our sins and was raised to life by God’s power.
Through His crucifixion and resurrection, Jesus has cleansed us of our sin and reconciled us to God.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Apart from Him, no one can approach God.
The cross of Christ is the fullest expression of God’s love.
In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent His only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him.
And this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
4. When we believe in Jesus, we receive salvation and our intimate fellowship with God is restored.
this great salvation cannot be earned by works, but must be received through faith.
First, you must repent of your sins.
Acts 2:38 ESV
And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Second, you must receive Jesus with your heart and believe in Him.
John 1:12 ESV
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
Third, you must confess and submit to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
When we believe in Jesus and submit to Him as our Lord and Saviour,
we are reconciled to God and are able to have intimate fellowship with Him.
Jesus is waiting for you right now.
Will you respond to Him?
5. If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, please read
this prayer with me.
God, I have forsaken you, my Creator, and lived in my own ways.
I believe that Jesus, Your Son, died for my sins and rose from the dead.
I submit to Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and will live according to Your Ways.
Be merciful to me and forgive me as I repent of my sin.
Thank you Lord, for saving me and adopting me as Your child.
Please lead me by Your holy spirit that I may walk in intimacy wity You and live a life that is pleasing to You.
I pray in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
6. We experience the fullness of God’s presence and blessing when we abide in intimate fellowship with Him.
The cross of Christ has abolished the great wall of hostility that separated us from God and has made it possible for us to abide in intimate fellowship with Him.
