Comfort in Chaos (Genesis 1:2)

Chaotic Earth
Talk of the Pre-Adamic earth, Gap Theory, etc.
What we do know is that all the elements were there (atoms), but they were all out of relation. (There was substance, but no styling.)
Like a pile of lumber not yet built into a house.
Look at this text in a practical, spiritual sense to apply it to our lives.

Without Form - formlessness, place of chaos and confusion (No PLAN)

Void - empty, without inhabitants (No PEOPLE)

Darkness - absence of light, the quality or state which renders anything difficult to be understood. (No PERCEPTION)

Deep - abyss, vastness (No POSSIBILITIES)

Sometimes our lives get chaotic to the point that we have no PLAN, no PEOPLE can help us. We have no PERCEPTION about where to go or what to do and see no POSSIBILITIES for comfort or help in sight.

Whilst in the midst of chaos, the Spirit of God (the Comforter) moves upon the face of the waters.

Moved - to hover, fluttereth.

The Holy Spirit is typified by a dove
Matthew 3:16 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:”
In the midst of our chaos, the Comforter will always be there. (Darkness was on the face of the deep. AND the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. BOTH were happening at the same time)
The Holy Spirit
POSSESSES in Chaos (Psalm 36:7 “How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.” )
PROTECTS in Chaos (Luke 13:34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!” )
PROVIDES in Chaos (Ruth 2:12 “The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.” )
PROPS in Chaos (Exodus 19:4 “Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself.Deuteronomy 32:11–12 “As an eagle stirreth up her nest, Fluttereth over her young, Spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, Beareth them on her wings: So the Lord alone did lead him, And there was no strange god with him.” )
PERFORMS in Chaos (Psalm 57:1–3 “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: For my soul trusteth in thee: Yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, Until these calamities be overpast. I will cry unto God most high; Unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me From the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.” )

Conclusion

God could’ve made his work perfect at first, but by a gradual process, we get to see his methods of power, process, providence, and his plan.
Throughout the chaos of this world, God was there. And he was controlling how everything went.
