Left off dealing with Conditions that lead to the dessert where the drought conduces you into death.
We looked at how some can be found next to the flowing rivers of the Holy Spirit and not know how to drink
A people who are exposed to the move of God but do not know how to drink
religiosity and legalism prevent these types of people from humbling themselves
They cant remember the last time they wept in His presence… much less when the last time they shouted in praise…
a few weeks ago… tears and snot flowing who cares because how refreshing was it to drink
We have come to understand the demonic
leads to the dessert
leads us to forge conditions necessary for the demonic to forge its habitat
leads us to death
Having dealt with the self… we turn to the impact our drought has on the church and the way to find refreshment
The work we have embarked contains dire consequences if we miss it…

The church is being devoured by the habitat of the demonic, it is up to us to ensure the Holy Spirit has complete dominion in us and in the church.

The Church and the Habitat of the Demonic

Much has been said over the last three months regarding our liberation one of the greatest reasons bringing the church into its liberation.
we may be tempted to say the church is not captive… it is more free today than ever before.
There is a drought that is running rampant in the church and it is consuming the church
There are demons that have learned to dance… to preach… to prophecy… to lead worship… to speak in tongues and has the church running into the dry places
“Pastor not my church… not the one I attended once upon a time ago… I have never seen any manifestations, I have never even seen a deliverance … NOT iN MY CHRISTIAN HOUSEHOLD

Clouds without Water

Jude 12 ESV
These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted;
They blaspheme what they do not know
Attempt to understand with instinct
They devour the congregation to save themselves
Pushed by winds
waterless clouds
People show up with a need… people show up hoping to catch a glimpse… people show up needing to be ministered and yet we pastors have an agenda? we have a plan? We dare not set it down to tend to the congregation
Clouds without water produce a people without fruit
We create a subtle apostasy in the church
What is the evidence that we have a constant flow of the streams of the Holy Spirit?
if the stream is not present, know that we are forming a people that are twice DEAD…IT WAS US PASTORS THAT HAVE PROVOKED THEM INTO A DROUGHT AND SUBSEQUENT FALLING AWAY.

Two wrongs of the church in drought

Jeremiah 2:12–13 ESV
Be appalled, O heavens, at this; be shocked, be utterly desolate, declares the Lord, for my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out cisterns for themselves, broken cisterns that can hold no water.
They forsook the fountains of living water
their plan was more important, their growth was of more desire, the building of their dream led them to cave to the pressures of the world and inside the church live in apostacy.
when water is present they do not soak it in… they do not long for it… it has become a nuisance to them
Instead of teaching people to run to the well they create cisterns
they know the way is to stay connected yet, they teach people to become dependent on what they have…
the cistern becomes a jail to the minister who made it
it can not hold the water
Jer 14 tells of the condition that screams the church has become the habitat of the demonic:
cisterns are empty
They cry “We are known by Your name, don’t leave us
The Lord says about them
Do not pray for them
Even if they fast I will not hear them
I will not accept their offering
They will be consumed by sword… famine… pestilence
Difference between cistern and the well… wells have a fresh supply of running water… cisterns must be filled
Danger… cannot tell them apart just by looking at them… only God knows what you are building… its not until the water runs out that we can tell and by then we have become complicit
Additional Signs the “C”hurch is in a drought
Gen 26:19-21 Pastors fight with other pastors… theres no water
One opens the other contends
I want what you have but do not want to dig or put in the labor
has them looking like the Accuser… Consider what was done to Joseph
Tossed into a cistern
brothers ran home… lied to their dad… created strife and jealousy
Gen 29 flocks fighting over who and when one can access the water
three flocks fighting over… who can open the well… when it could be opened…
You cannot… you’re not supposed to… its a fight for water that is quenching the work of the Spirit.
instead of doing what it takes to ensure everyone is drinking limitations are placed… we learn to play nice and talk behind others…
Returning to the concept of my church does not see demonic manifestations… we have never even seen deliverance… not my Christian household…
it denies part of the Great commandments… cast out demons
wreaks of a church that has the conditions necessary for the demonic to be comfortable within their walls.
When Jesus entered the synagogue (a place where the word was being preached daily the demonic began to manifest…
He was so filled that wherever He went an atmosphere of liberation was made and it would cause the unclean Spirits to be so uncomfortable they would manifest and cry out:
“Jesus son of God, why have you come to torment me before my time…
If we are to be more and more like Jesus then we should be those who make the demonic habitats rattle… be so hated by the unclean spirits that where we go there is an atmosphere of liberation… that hell would have your name and picture on a most wanted poster because you have disrupted everything they are doing around you… be so filled they shout:
why have you come to torment me before my time…

Finding Refreshment

Takes a posture of humility and surrender
Fountain that is found in the temple Ezek. 47:1
Liberation that begins through the work of the church (cannot be clouds without water
taught what it means to be saved… and then to run to the stream
Water flows from the Altar v. 1-2
a measuring line is established
Then there is one that will begin to lead you vv.3-4
He is carefully walking you further into the depths measuring for you
A thousand cubits… ankles…. a thousand cubits… knees… a thousand cubits… waist high
Finally one more time a thousand more cubits… the water will be too deep to pass… deep enough to swim
led to the banks
the water is fresh and yields life
there a places (swamps and marshes) cut off from the fresh and everything dies
If we are filled, refreshed, even when it is terrifying we trust the Holy Spirit
Ezekiel 47:12 (ESV)
And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing.”
…Because water flows from their sanctuary…REPEAT
minister… supplication to be in the river… to swim in that river… to individually be so thirsty for the fresh water… to corporately be a sanctuary… Fruit for food… Leaves for healing.
