PSALM 46 GOD WITH YOU GOD’S PRESENCE AND POWER ARE MY REFUGE IN THE TROUBLES OF LIFE. PRESENCE AND POWER OF GOD 1.The presence of God removes fear in the middle of turmoil. 1-3 2.The presence of God brings security in the middle of turmoil. 4-7 3.God’s power over all humanity brings quietness to my soul. 8-11 PSALM 50 REAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IS NOT ABOUT RELIGIOUS ACTIONS BUT LIFE CHOICES FROM MY HEART. WHAT IS MY RESPONSE TO THE POWER AND PRESENCE OF GOD? WHAT DO LIFE CHOICES FROM THE HEART LOOK LIKE? A Quiet Rest PSALM 62 A QUIET REST 1. Quietly resting in God recognizes the difficulty of life circumstances. 1-4 2. Quietly resting in God recognizes the necessity of depending on God. 5-8 THE CHALLENGE God is the source of . . . My deliverance My reputation (glory) My safety (refuge) Therefore, I should . . . Trust: Depend at all times Pray: Bring my heart burdens before God Rest: Remember God is my refuge A QUIET REST 1. Quietly resting in God recognizes the difficulty of life circumstances. 1-4 2. Quietly resting in God recognizes the necessity of depending on God. 5-8 3. Quietly resting in God recognizes who is trustworthy—God alone. 9-12 TRUST, PRAY, REST – THROUGH EVERYTHING – IN GOD ALONE! APPLICATION 1. In the midst of your fear, anxiety, depression, hardship, struggles emotionally, difficult circumstances, to what or whom are you turning? Turn to God alone for security; there are no other answers. APPLICATION 2. Understanding the reality of God and choosing to rest in Him is the answer for peace, therefore, seek to understand who God is! APPLICATION • • • If I don’t believe God is all-powerful, I will think my circumstances are beyond God. If I don’t believe God loves me, I will question his goodness towards me. If I don’t believe God is the judge, I will choose to do life my own way. APPLICATION 3. Write down what you truly believe about God and evaluate those beliefs by Scripture. 4. My circumstances don’t control my stability in life – my trust in God does. 5. Because God cares, pour your heart out to God and trust in His character. TRUST, PRAY, REST – THROUGH EVERYTHING – IN GOD ALONE!
