Islands #1
Islands #1
We have a world that seems to be falling apart all around us.
When Empires fall it’s islands of sanity that are the hope for humanity.
When our gut is telling us something is about to collapse what are we anointed to do?
We can get overwhelmed when all we focus on all the big things we can not change.
When our worlds around us are changing or failing, what do we do!?
Islands are the answer.
What is the best way to deal with anxiety?
Look to what you do have authority and power over.
“Hungry Remnant”
Isaiah 42:10 (NASB95)
10 Sing to the Lord a new song, Sing His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You islands, and those who dwell on them.
God seems to see us as islands of people.
Activations:
Jesus, would You show me one island You want me to focus on?
What are You building with this island?
Islands #2 Islands of Heaven
Islands #2 Islands of Heaven
From heaven to earth. We are not called to be earthly, reaching to heaven.
Islands #3 Topical Islands
Islands #3 Topical Islands
Ashes to Beauty, and Death to Life.
Topical Islands around the topic that God healed you in.
Like when you lost a loved one.
When your children had to move on.
When you were overcoming addiction.
When you had your heart broken.
When you felt alone but found your true self.
Topical Islands around the topic that God healed you in.
Proverbs 16:24 (NASB95)
24 Pleasant words are a honeycomb, Sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Islands #4 Islands Of Hope
Romans 15:13 (NASB95)
13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Islands #5 Islands of Joy
Today we look into how to become people who are islands of joy.
Nehemiah 8:10 (NASB95)
10 Then he said to them, “Go, eat of the fat, drink of the sweet, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Romans 14:17 (NASB95)
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
We often think that we get joy by getting more things we want.
Gifts, toys, tools, cloths, sometimes even meetings.
The joy that lasts comes another way.
Psalm 87:7 (NASB95)
7 Then those who sing as well as those who play the flutes shall say, “All my springs of joy are in you.”
Joy is the miracle grow of heaven.
Joy brings life to the hearts of man and it breeds confidence in Jesus.
If you want to influence people the best way is through joy and confidence.
How do you grow joy in you?
To have joy you first need peace.
Joy can’t stay where there is no peace.
Joy comes from peace.
People who carry grudges are not people who experience joy.
A very big pattern in the bible is the joy comes after resolved conflict.
Joy comes after resolved conflict.
If you dont have joy or joy never lasts in your life it is because you dont have peace in your heart.
You my need to forgive first.
Acts 13:51–52 (NASB95)
51 But they shook off the dust of their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium. 52 And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
Shake the dust off your feet.
When you have been wronged or rejected, forgive and let them go.
Feet where you have been to where you are going.
When people are offended at you, that offense is like dust that can cause you to become offended, too.
Shake off the offense so that the judgment of the offense does not affect you or those you serve.
That city will still gossip about Paul and Barnabas. The people who do not know Paul and Barnabas will get a false view of them because of the deception that city is under.
Shaking off the dust means none of that is on you anymore.
Activation:
What dust do you need to shake off.
Forgive me for taking offense.
Other Resources:
13 “Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old, together, For I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.
14 “Whoever does not receive you, nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.
11 “Any place that does not receive you or listen to you, as you go out from there, shake the dust off the soles of your feet for a testimony against them.”
1 The Lord reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad.
11 Then it will happen on that day that the Lord Will again recover the second time with His hand The remnant of His people, who will remain, From Assyria, Egypt, Pathros, Cush, Elam, Shinar, Hamath, And from the islands of the sea.
6 “So the inhabitants of this coastland will say in that day, ‘Behold, such is our hope, where we fled for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria; and we, how shall we escape?’ ”
15 Therefore glorify the Lord in the east, The name of the Lord, the God of Israel, In the coastlands of the sea.
10 Sing to the Lord a new song, Sing His praise from the end of the earth! You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it. You islands, and those who dwell on them.
12 Let them give glory to the Lord And declare His praise in the coastlands.
4 “He will not be disheartened or crushed Until He has established justice in the earth; And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.”
1 Listen to Me, O islands, And pay attention, you peoples from afar. The Lord called Me from the womb; From the body of My mother He named Me.
Isaiah 51:5 (NASB95)
5 “My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, And My arms will judge the peoples; The coastlands will wait for Me, And for My arm they will wait expectantly.
19 “I will set a sign among them and will send survivors from them to the nations: Tarshish, Put, Lud, Meshech, Tubal and Javan, to the distant coastlands that have neither heard My fame nor seen My glory. And they will declare My glory among the nations.
5 From these the coastlands of the nations were separated into their lands, every one according to his language, according to their families, into their nations.
2 Each will be like a refuge from the wind And a shelter from the storm, Like streams of water in a dry country, Like the shade of a huge rock in a parched land.
