The World - Life -Spirit of Truth- Light

1 John 1:1–4 “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete.”

The World:
1 John 2:15 ESV
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Kosmos- Satans systems of distorted beliefs. Behaviors governed by the Evil One
1 John 5:19 “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.”
James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
This is a warning against loving the world “kosmo” Love of the world vs love of the Father

1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.”
Kosmos Characteristic
desire of the flesh- physical pleasures, self centeredness, It's about seeking fulfillment in ways that prioritize one's own comfort or pleasure, opposition to spiritual growth. moral failures ( greed, lust)
desire of the eyes- Covetousness, sensory attraction, being materialistic, deceptive appeal,
pride of life- self exhatation, boasting/arrogance, dependence on status and power, pride, distraction from spiritual values
None of these are charateristics of the Father!
So this is the worldy natue that Satan rules over why because if it is not of God it is of Satan.
1 John 3:10 “By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”
JESUS SAID: If God were your Father, you would love me, for tI came from God and uI am here. vI came not of my own accord, but whe sent me. 43 xWhy do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot ybear to hear my word. 44 zYou are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. aHe was a murderer from the beginning, and bdoes not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. cWhen he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. 46 Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? 47 dWhoever is of God hears the words of God. eThe reason why you do not hear them is that fyou are not of God.”

1 John 2:17 (ESV)
And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
The world systems are based on selfishness and fear !
The world systems are in opposition to God’s Kingdom.
Desires- desire of the flesh, desire of the eyes, and pride of life are the world
They are apart of a fleeting nature and not sustainable spiritually.
Does not align with kingdom values!
But whoever does the will of God abides forever!
Those who follow God’s will are promised eternal life.
Live according to His commandments, teaching, and moral standards - This is a lifestlye and not just a one and done!

This scripture calls us to focus on spiritual values and to live in accordance with God's will rather than being consumed by the temporary and often misleading allure of worldly desires. It highlights the distinction between the fleeting nature of worldly pursuits and the permanence of a life devoted to God.

the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—
1 John 1:3 ESV

1 John 1:5–7 “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.”

ANTI-CHRIST : Deceivers

1 John 2:18 ESV
Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour.

1 John 2:19–20 ESV
They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge.
PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS
Spirit of Truth

LIGHT

ALLELON- One Another - treat each other as equals in their interactions. Mutual respect, cooperation, and reciprocity.
We should see ourselves as part of a larger, interconnected communit where each persons action impact the whole.

Fellowship- Koinina participation
Walking in light- keeping the commandments

John 1:4–5 ESV
In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Jesus is the light! The light represents truth, holiness and life-giving presence of God. Jesus is the true light that reveals God’s Character and offers spiritual illumination to humanity.
Darkness represents evil, sin, ignorance, spiritual blindness. It is the state of the world without God’s presence. The forces opposed to God and His purposes.
The light of Christ is active and persistent. It works within the darkness of the world. His presences is not diminished by the evil or sin around them but instead continue to operate and be evident.
Overcome: Greek katalaben The darkness cannot extinguish or defeat the light! This is a statement of the ultimate victory in Christ over evil and death. No matter how much darkness it will not conquer the light.
Spiritual Darkness often fail to recognizant or accept Jesus and his teachings

1 John 1:8 ESV
