God Has a Plan

“As long as God, who knows the future, provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope. This does not mean that we shall be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but it does mean that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.”

It’s all in the plan

Jeremiah 29:11 NASB95
‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:10 ESV
“For thus says the Lord: When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place.

They had to relinquish their own schemes for escape from Babylonian rule and accept the authority of God’s plan so that their future (i.e., their descendants) could have hope.

First thing I noticed is,

GOD HAS A PLAN

What do we know about this plan for our lives?

First, We know that the Plan is for our Good.

It is for our Welfare.
When God is watching out for our welfare.
Happiness
Psalm 32:1 MSG
Count yourself lucky, how happy you must be— you get a fresh start, your slate’s wiped clean.
Psalm 34:2 MSG
I live and breathe God; if things aren’t going well, hear this and be happy:
Psalm 86:4 ESV
Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Hebrews 13:6 ESV
So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

Second, We may not understand God’s Plan

Isaiah 55:9 ESV
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9 (MSG)
“For as the sky soars high above earth,
so the way I work surpasses the way you work,
and the way I think is beyond the way you think.
Deuteronomy 29:29 NASB95
“The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our sons forever, that we may observe all the words of this law.
Acts 11:12 ESV
And the Spirit told me to go with them, making no distinction. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house.
Acts 13:4 ESV
So, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.
Acts 16:7 ESV
And when they had come up to Mysia, they attempted to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them.
We only see a small part of the plan at a time. God sees it all.

Third, God adjust the plan for our Good.

Romans 8:28 NASB
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 AMP
We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.
Acts 16:6 ESV
And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

Listen,

Almighty God created this world out of nothing,

put it into space,

created all the galaxies in the universe,

put the laws of nature in motion,

and governs and guides His creation.

Certainly, He is in control of it.

The Man who turned water into wine can also turn
Your sadness into joy.
