READ VERSE: Jude 17–25“But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”

Dear Satan
Not only theological but in accordance to how they live.
Discuss how Jude warns believers about false teachers and calls them to contend for the faith.
Jude’s ultimate heart is not just for our knowledge, but to stand and not fall prey but to fight using Biblical truth.
KNOWING IS NOT ENOUGH, WE HAVE TO TAKE ACTION. (go to verse 17)
Transition to Jude 1:17-25, focusing on how believers can remain steadfast and faithful in the face of evil.
Remember, Reinforce, Reach, Rest

Remember (Jude 17-19) “But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit.”
It was written before so it shouldn’t shock us. (disappointed but not surprised meme)
It should not cause us to surrender and to fall prey.
Acts 20:29–30 “I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them.”
When we hear ideas that is not aligned with the teachings of the Bible, then that idea denies God’s authority. (STATE AN EXAMPLE like what God says about family and marriage).
Reinforce our faith (Jude 20–21 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.”)
Active not one time/passive
Jude 1 “Jude, a servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James, To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ:”
The reason why Jude asked us to be built on our faith and not on our mere knowledge is because false teachers failed on their practices and the way the lived, not only on their doctrine and theology.
Instead of fighting using our own power, intellect, and strength, we were asked to pray in the spirit.
Ephesians 6:18 “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,”
Keep yourselves in the love of God (not doing something to make God love us) - nothing can separate us from the love of God (John 15:9–10 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.”) - Obedience! Obedience does not make God love us more. Obedience makes us enjoy God’s love. Mas lalo nating maeenjoy yung love ni God na constant. (Sun and umbrella metaphor) (Prodigal Son)
Keep your eyes fixed on eternity “mercy that leads to eternal life” - Jude says to live with a constant expectation that there is an eternal life waiting for us — making us more faithful and to not fall prey on the false teachings that are presented to us.
Reach out! (Jude 22–23 “And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.”) Be concerned about others who might be attacked and stumbled.
Reinforcement comes first before reaching out. (Airplane metaphor)
You can’t snatch them out of the fire if you yourself is on the fire.
Distinction:
Compassion (young on their faith) - gentleness, walk with them, patience
Save with fear (they may have fallen and enjoying the false ideologies) - do whatever it takes to pull them out of the fire before it’s too late
There are times that we need to be gentle and there are times that we need to rebuke — not in a position of supremacy but of fear. Fear of falling prey yourself. (Old Testament Garment Illustration - Guard your heart — we are bound to sin.
Rest (Jude 24–25“Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.” )
