The LORD is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

INTRODUCTION

The Bible Knowledge Commentary (Psalm 27)
David at first expressed jubilant confidence in the Lord in spite of a host of enemies who threatened his life. But suddenly his mood changed: he anxiously prayed that the Lord would not forsake him, but would help and comfort him in his time of need. Because the Lord was his Source of comfort and hope, he strengthened himself to wait for the Lord. The psalm is one of courageous trust.
A heavily fortified structure or stronghold designed for defense and protection against enemies. In biblical context, fortresses symbolize safety, security, and divine protection
God permits trials, God controls trials, and God uses trials for His own glory. God is glorified through weak vessels.
