Recap from last week:

- He was known as the wisest man to ever live aside from Jesus...

1. Getting God’s Desire

Be thou strong
Shew thyself a man
Keep the charge of the Lord thy God
Walk in his ways
Keep his statutes, commandments, judgements and testimonies as it is written
Why? So you can prosper in what you do and the Lord may continue his word which he spake concerning me

2. Getting God’s Attention

He was strengthened in his kingdom
The LORD his God was with him
God magnified him exceedingly
He went to Gibeon to the tabernacle that Moses made in the wilderness
“Solomon and the congregation sought unto it”
Offered 1,000 burnt offerings
We did a study on burnt offerings
They are a sacrificial offering and an offering of dedication
The widow with the two mites (gave all)
There is significance in Jesus’ eyes for those who sacrifice all for Him...

3. Getting God’s Blessing

1 Kings 3:5 KJV 1900
5 In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
a.) The Lord appeared to Solomon
b.) God - “What shall I give thee?”
What would your response be if God asked this to you?
Hopefully you’re thinking of something more than next months rent or health for yourself
Question: if God asked you “what shall I give thee?” How small would you be thinking?
Do you allow your mind to go to places where you dream about how greatly God could use you?
Do you dream about God using YOU to reach tens of thousands of people for Him?
Do you dream about God using YOU to give tens of thousands of dollars for Him?
Do you dream about God using YOU to reach and disciple people across the world?
Don’t limit how God could use you!
Nehemiah believed God could use Him to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in 52 days
David believed God could deliver Goliath into his hands
1 Samuel 17:45–46 KJV 1900
45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
Paul believed God could use him to reach people in all places
Acts 19:1–12 (KJV 1900)
1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. 10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: 12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
Mary believed God could use her to be the mother for Jesus
Luke 1:38 “38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.”
It seems to be a matter of what we believe God can do through us…
We dare not have small-town thinking in a small-town…
We have great significance and God CAN and WANTS to use you and I to reach tens of thousands here in Douglas County, throughout Oregon and around the world…
Why would we limit what God wants to do?
a.) Limiting God because of unbelief
Matthew 13:54–58 KJV 1900
54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? 55 Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? 56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? 57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. 58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Unbelief is the root cause of God’s work not being as great as He would prefer
58  Nothing is more limiting than the self-imposed boundaries we clamp around our own lives when we require God to fit into our expectations.

I believe God will use Bro. Jaron to reach tens of thousands of people and help fight the cause of Biblical music in our churches that pleases the Lord…
I believe God has used and will continue to use Pastor Rob to reach tens of thousands of people all over the world
I believe God will use our Sunday School to reach tens of thousands of children and Sunday School workers across the world
I believe God will use Pastor Woodard and I to reach tens of thousands of people across the world
Why?
Because Bro. Jaron, Pastor Rob, our Sunday School, Pastor Woodard or I are something wonderful?
No… Because God is amazing and the only thing that will hinder or limit what He wants to do through us is US.
People need to be saved
People need to be discipled
People need to be encouraged to serve and give more
People need to be taught and inspired in ministries across the world to keep fighting, keep innovating and stick to the old paths of what we have been learned and taught in
Why can’t God use Victory Baptist Church and those of us in Roseburg, Oregon to accomplish this?????
Solomon offered sacrificial and offerings of dedication to the Lord…
This turned the Lord’s eye to him and he asked the question, “What shall I give thee?”
The Lord can bless a sacrificial and dedicated heart to Him…
What if we asked for tens-of-thousands of people saved after offering ourselves sacrificially?
**We’ll pick up with Solomon’s response next week…**
