.Thank Pastor and church.
Introduce myself, give presentation.
1 Samuel 3:1-10
We see the surrender of a young boy about 12 years to the Lord. This young boy would grow up to judge the nation of Israel, anoint the first two kings of Israel, confront Saul, lead the nation back to the Lord, and accomplish great things for God. This man was the last of the judges and the first of the prophets. This man was surrendered to the Lord, and yet it can all be traced back to his mother.
This woman was baron, God had closed up her womb.
1 Samuel 1:1-10

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
A godly husband will love his wife, there is no doubt. Is it not the husband’s responsibility to lead his Family spiritually? In verse 3, he leads his family in worship. And he is providing for his family. He loves her. Why do you think it mentions her more then his other wife? Why is she more loved? Maybe it is because she was pretty, but beauty is not everything. I think Charity is the most beautiful woman in the world, but I don’t love her because she is pretty. I love her because of who she is, and how she treats me. Right? Now, it’s also a choice, I choose to love her no matter what. BUT I wonder if Hannah was being the wife that is in Ephesians? I wonder if Elkanah loved her because she was being a godly wife?
Husbands, wives, fathers, and mothers, if you want your little baby to serve the Lord, we need to be the parents and spouses that God requires us to be.

Every year she went to the house of the Lord. Every year her husband went, she went also, even when she was heartbroken.
Parents, if you want your little baby to serve the Lord, you must let them see you being faithful to church. They are watching, if you never go, or let any excuse keep you from the Lord, they will think that it is not important. Let them see that it’s real, and its worthy of our faithfulness.

We hear song after song, testimony after testimony about mothers who pray. But do we understand the importance? Mothers, do you pray for your kids? Do you weep for them when they go astray? THIS IS FOR FATHERS ALSO!

I won’t take the time to go into a study about why alcohol is not good for a Christian to drink. But I will say this, if a kid sees their parents drinking, getting drunk, or partying, it will not push them to be closer to the Lord. It will not strengthen their walk with God.
She trusted the Lord vs 18

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart…
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are my ways higher than your ways, And my thoughts than your thoughts.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
Neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts.
Will your kids see a mother who is constantly worries about what God is going to do? If they don’t think God can take care of their mother, how will they trust Him enough to go into ministry?

Mothers, if you baby is sick, and needs you, then by all means miss church, visitation, anything to care for that baby. She devoted herself to that baby. And I bet she was using that time to teach him things about the Lord.
Fathers, HELP YOUR WIFE WITH YOUR KIDS

When that baby was old enough, she took him to church. TAKE YOUR KIDS TO CHURCH! They don’t need to be in baseball games, they need to be in church. They can miss band practice to make it to visitation. Get them involved in church every chance you can.
They made sacrifices to bring her child to the house of the Lord.

Yes, camp is expensive, yes, gas costs money to bring them to youth activities, yes, church clothes are overpriced. Hannah was willing to make sacrifices, are you?
They gave him to the Lord

This may be the hardest part. Do you think that my mom and dad are happy that we are moving across the Atlantic ocean? Do you think my in laws are glad that I am taking there daughter to a different country, to learn a new language, and culture? NO! but they my parents and hers made the decision 23 years ago that they would encourage us to do whatever God wanted us to do wherever God wanted.
Three things that will keep a missionary from the field are payments, pastors, and parents. How many missionaries have stayed back because mom and dad would not back them when they were going overseas? Give your kids to the Lord, he can take care of them better than you. Yes, it is hard, but trust God. In His will there is protection
Psalm 91:1-4 (KJV 1900)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, And under his wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
He will keep the feet of his saints, And the wicked shall be silent in darkness; For by strength shall no man prevail.
Mothers, can you put yourselves in Hannahs shoes? Can you say you are doing that she did? In the end, she praised God. She was glad that God used him.
