It’s nice to see you guys and thank you for coming to this time of prayer

I didn’t organize this time of prayer, but I was asked to share a short message with you tonight.
The purpose of tonight is to come together to pray for our church
Many of you are here because you understand the trouble we as a church are in
I am here tonight because I love this church, not the building but you.
The enemy whispers in my ear to run as far away as humanly possible, but the Spirit tells me stand, be of good courage, stand, and fight

1. What is happening to our fellowship?

What I see taking place in the church is heavy spiritual warfare and we have an enemy who has torn the church
a) This church is under heavy spiritual warfare
John 10:10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy”.
The enemy comes to take whatever we are willing to give to him
Our peace, unity, friendships, etc
I have spoken to some who are not going to church, they are angry and bitter
I can’t help but to think, sadly, the enemy has them right where he wants them
1 Peter 4:12 “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;”
Why are we surprised when the attacks come?

2. What do we do?

a) Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God
1 Peter 5:6 “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time,”
David Guzic says this, Clothe yourself with humility is demonstrated by submission. It is the ability to cheerfully put away our own agenda for God’s, even if God’s agenda is expressed through another person

3. Have fervent Love for one another

1 Peter 4:8 “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.””
a) Have fervent love for one another
Fervent means: Passionate intensity
b) What is this love the Bible speaks about?
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 “Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
c) Love will cover a multitude of sin

Conclusion: Before we get into a time of prayer,

let us examine ourself before the Lord and confess any sin that may be in our lives
Remember to praise God, is He not worthy of our praise?
