Elul in the context of the Feasts
A little celebrating the seasons in calm. Unity. I just love the fact that we're calm and we're trying to do this in unity. So I make a big deal out of this play on words. We are doing it in community. When we begin going into The Season's, sometimes we're inclined to say will ice honor practice, the biblical feasts of Israel.
I'm not going to do any of these stupid Christian things.
That doesn't go over well with a lot of people. Anyone here of Youth for Christ.
It's an ancient organization crew, maybe modern equivalent of it. Youth for Christ International. I went to Youth for Christ meetings and I went to a fundamentalist church and I learned a lot of fundamental of things that I really appreciated the teachers and everything. And I was convinced that in order to be saved, you had to say the sinner's prayer. And this is the sinner's prayer. No, this is the sinner's prayer. No, this is the sinner's prayer there about four different versions of the sinner's prayer but they were all the sinner's prayer. Anyone identify with this a little bit. Guess what I did with my parents.
I went home and told them they were going to burn in hell forever because they had never said the sinner's prayer. How well do you think that went over?
They did love me. What Clara?
Interesting. My dad is with the Lord. My mom is with the Lord. I'm absolutely confident of that. I don't know that they ever said, what I was calling the sinner's prayer. They had a relationship with God and that was a very big, big deal. They had a relationship with the Lord. Jesus just schewe call him. whatever name you think is appropriate, it's fine, he acknowledges her relationship, not necessarily that you pronounce his name correctly, Celebrating the seasons in community. So, it's all built on relationship. Our relationship with God, and with others is the root of everything we are, and everything, we do. Ryan said that our purpose is to glorify God, our purpose is to be in relationship with God and glorifying. God is one way that we demonstrate that relationship. If you're just glorifying God, and you don't have a relationship,
What's that look like to him? Oh, there's someone down there and seeing your cute little song. And waving a flag. Oh, you mean me when relationship that's different relationship is the big, big deal. We need to have and be in relationship with the Lord. It's the root of everything we are, and do God. Created in order to have relationship, he didn't create just because it was fun, he wanted to be with us. He wanted to be among us, she wanted to be in our very center, he wanted us to know. He is God.
The very first verse in the Bible, it was reflected to I think earlier in the sermon bereshit Laura Elohim bereshit. Elohim is a third-person masculine singular verb is a verb only used by God. No one else can do anything. God is the only one who creates there are very few Hebrew verbs that are only God. You will not find any place in your Bible where Man created anyting. Bereshit in the beginning, God created Elohim. He God, he created In the beginning, he created God. Well it's in the beginning. God created, you can switch things around, okay, in the beginning anyway. Roshes The head. We're going to be celebrating Rosh Hashanah. What's that? the head of the year, the first The one over the whole year, the receipt for the Roches. For the head, God created in the beginning, for the first ones God created for the first fruits, God created. We are the first fruits, Jesus is the first fruit. He created the universe for us for his purposes. For Jesus purposes for us there. A sheet for us, God created you, maybe never heard that before you maybe 10 times, cuz you heard me talkin about it. It's a big deal. We are
redeemed. We're part of his kingdom. He created for us.
Now and forever. Amen.
Yeah.
The world was created for us rather than for him and him Jesus is first fruits. He is. Us. We're with him. Without the with him without the relationship. Nothing
for them, Adam and Eve. Yeah.
Mankind.
Was the World created for those for Condemned to burn in hell forever.
I think so. I'm not going to argue that but it's our job to try to help that not happen.
My parents aren't burning in Hell forever.
Sorry of his own. Will he brought us forth by the word of truth? That we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
So this is all about Jesus and the relationship and God, and the relationship and us in the relationship. He was in the world, but it didn't know him. We read this today in the Torah study, his own people didn't receive him to those who did receive him and believed he gave the right to become children of God. Family members of God, God's family. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. It's this relationship destroying close to one another cleanse and purify your hands and your hearts. You are. So God sent his son Spirits into our hearts. Crying Abba, Father, father, father, father, you have
I could picture babies crying out Ava, Ava trust in the Lord with all your heart, don't lean on your own understanding, and knowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. I am the Vine. Vine. You are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him will bear much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing. Years ago, Eileen had this idea that she wanted to help decorate our house we were talking about, redecorating our house. And she got on a scaffold in the living room and painted, Vine and branches and grapes and the verse Beautiful spent days doing it, beautiful. It's not there anymore, but it's underneath the paint that's there, but it's beautiful. We still remember it.
Several upcoming holidays. Begin these upcoming holidays. Try not to be like me with my parents saying, you need to spray the sinner's prayer, try to realize you're in families who have slightly different Traditions than you. It's okay to have different Traditions, Traditions are important there. How we make sense out of things. Is the tradition the main thing or the relationship? What do you think? We're going to follow the tradition, right? We're going to be in relationship with the Living. Lord, which one do you think is more appropriate? Relationship. Right. Don't cause divisions are many places in the Bible. If they don't cause divisions schisms, you can have differences. That's okay. Don't schismatic Lee Schism from each other? Don't cut yourself off from your family. Don't cut yourself off from other Christians. Don't cut yourself off from anybody. Be part of the world. God has placed you, in honor him and his presence in you as your interact with others in relationship. Honor them, don't disrespect them. Don't cause division schisms. Six things, the Lord hates seven or Abomination to him. Discord among the Brethren is the seventh don't cause Discord among the brethren in the body of Christ. Try to not cause Discord appreciate different. Traditions, I'm going to give you two real quick examples. Has anyone ever seen a little kid teaching their younger brother or sister had to pray? Have you ever seen that? Anybody. Did they say now? Something like this. Now you have to sit up straight. And you have to hold your hands like this. Close your eyes and your fingers can't be open. Right. And the kid goes like this, since he goes this way. And, and I saw this once a little girl, was teaching her little brother to pray. I choose very, you know how little sister sisters older sisters can be. I do I don't have one but I've seen it. She corrected them. He received it. See that loving, when he stopped there and prayed, did he have relationship? When he was praying?
Maybe. Maybe he had a relationship with God when he was praying, right? Maybe not. Maybe he was just doing what his sister told him to do this, is it Tradition now, does God honor this tradition? If it's just a tradition.
Yes.
It comes from the heart. It's it's a tradition. It's a practice that the child is doing and he might not have a clue about the relationship he needs to have, but in the doing of this, he develops a relationship. That's the whole reason for teaching your little brother to pray. It's so they'll develop a relationship like motyka was talking about this is the family discipling moment. Is that make sense? Which is more important, the tradition or the
relationship.
Relationship. But they're kind of Tide. In. In in, in in Bible study, love your brother. Let love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your might and love you. Love your neighbor as yourself. It's impossible to do that. And so I've had this conversation. I don't know, dozens of times at least. It's impossible to do this. How can we be commanded to do something that's impossible to do? And this is the best instruction I've ever been given. Fake it till you make it pretend like you love them act like you love them and in the doing of it, you begin to actually love them. It's kind of like the Beauty and the Beast thing.
It's a beautiful image.
It's a beautiful image.
There is a story, ancient story about this guy who wore a mask that fool his prospective bride. He wanted her to believe that he was this wonderful man and so he wore a mask to pretend it was. He know he wasn't behind the mask, he knew who he was. And she finally figured out there was a mask and he been wearing the mask for years, and she convinced him one day to take the mask off.
And he was the one.
That was a beautiful man. He'd become. What he wasn't because he knew it was what he needed to do. God does this to us, he gives us Traditions there good, your Traditions are good. I'll give you another another tradition. Baruch Hashem. Kavod Muhammad, Ali. Alarm by Ed. Do we sing that loudly or quietly? Well, not every week. Every week in this congregation, we sing it at the top of our lungs. And the kids sing it very loudly, but it has anyone ever heard the kids sick? As long as you can write. Intel mudak X. There's a lot of traditions on this particular thing Baruch Hashem kavod, maputo alamba, that's the Bible verse but that's not a Bible verse. Where two come from? Different traditions on where it came from.
1.
Jacob is on his deathbed and he's giving these prophetic blessings for his son's. Remember the story. And then, when he's finished saying it, he drew up and died, he passed away. He told him where he wanted to be buried and Drew up and, and and died. Tradition holds that, that he was letting his son's know, he didn't believe they were going to get it. They were messed up. They have problems. And the tradition holds. The nudity.
the son said, Shema Israel.
He knew they would get it. He knew his blessings would be effective. But before he passed, he said.
Very quietly. So, the tradition and talmudic times was you don't sing it loudly.
Now, something happened. In some congregations, they decided that when you say blessed be the name of his glorious Kingdom forever and ever, this is a pronouncement against the current King and and in favor of the god of Israel and Jews were punished for this. So in some congregations, they were very serious about Because they don't want the cake.
Weird tradition, but it's ancient.
They had this argument these sages of Israel. What we do is singing loudly or sing it quietly. What do we do? Do we say it so we can hear it ourselves.
Or so we can't hear it. What's a discussion on this in the town? But it's crazy. I know, but it's true that this is all happening, really?
They decided if they're Heretics present. You sing it loudly. Cuz you don't. You want the Heretics to know? God's kingdom is great. but if your mom a community with no Heretics,
cuz the Heretics don't need to be told because there's no Heretics in the congregation here. so every week, when we sing it, I said, quietly. and I recognize, There might be Heretics in the congregation.
It's a tradition. Our Traditions, good. Yes. What are you learning from the tradition? Relationship. Have I made my point, any questions on this? Brian.
Try to get away from the world's for Disney Mickey and Minnie do are supposed holidays. Then we're trying to get into the feet away from Halloween Christmas? Yeah, yeah, I'll I'll agree with Halloween. All Hallows Eve. I do have a celebration. I lift up those who are Saints whose names are not known.
And among those, I lift up the martyrs who were the Holy Innocents killed by Herod. So on All Hallows Eve, that's my tradition. I don't celebrate Halloween. But I have a similar thing. I have a similar time thing and when I get into a conversation with people who insist on celebrating Halloween, this is what I say I try to share my tradition with them In a way that honors them. And I say, I'm concerned about the Pagan aspects of the way, you celebrate it, but I'm not going to say, you can't. This is what I do and why I do it. All Hallows Eve, those Saints whose names. We don't even know yet Smee show.
Contradict.
Bright.
Consistent is your tradition consistent with God's instruction?
Bright.
Right, but don't have them over the head with the Bible. Try to try to preserve relationship. Try to honor particularly if there. What they consider to be religious Traditions, unless they're satanists, and they're celebrating Halloween. Now, we've got something to talk about.
Yes.
Don't turn your lights on that night. We don't turn our lights on. We don't, we don't, we don't we don't never mind. Yes. Peter.
Pattan pattan.
Interferes with God intervening present relationship.
autopilot, okay, if you're doing it, for the right reasons,
Yeah, you're in the air force you into, so, you know, better than me. There's the right way. The wrong way in the Air Force way.
Auto Pilots, okay. if it's done for the right reasons, There are times when you have to be on autopilot but you have to realize that the autopilot practice of these things is to strengthen the relationship. If you if you have that in mind it's okay it it it actually builds. It's it's it's it's it's it's strong. During the month of elul as an example, it's a good idea to think of something that either God wants you to do or something. God wants you to stop doing if you want to do something.
That's something you should do. If he wants you to stop doing something, that's something you need to stop doing. And and at the at the Rosh Hashanah, you have this top Sleek ceremony, where you take your, whatever it is that God wants you to throw away and you water it up in a book piece of bread, and you throw it into the river and it's gone. You need to actually toss off the thing. He wants you to cast off, but if it's something he wants you to do then, then that's something that's worth trying. Even if it's autopilot. So I'll give you an example of my autopilot. History years ago, I came into contact with this idea of a little trying to do something that demonstrated that I honor God and that I honor my wife.
Simple.
And don't tell anybody, you know if if you're if you're doing, if you're going to try this, try doing it without telling anybody when you tell people, you're going to do something. And then you fail, then you realize you made a mistake. It's one reason not to tell him but also if you're not telling him it's a secret and you kind of hold it more. Holy, so, I decided that I would do something really radical. I would routinely take out the garbage. And put the dishes away from the dishwasher. Without saying a word. What do you think the impact of that was?
Good impactor.
Yeah. Who are you? Who are you? Who are you? And what have you done with my husband? Yeah.
Try it. One of my friends calls routinely. We talk maybe once a year and if I ever get whenever I'm talking to him, I say so. Tell me what have you done to demonstrate your love for your for your wife today.
It's, it's something that we share this question. And it's been a blessing to him and a blessing to me over the many years we've been friends. What have you done to demonstrate your love for your wife today? There's a similar one. God, what are we going to do today, that kind of thing. Anyway, lovingly share your wisdom and information. If if if you're trying to help your family who celebrating Christmas or Easter or some other day that they consider holy share information with him. Don't just tell him that they're idiots and Pagan and everything else. Try to try to do it with love and try to share with them what you know to be right through in good without Causing injury. It's just my advice.
With this congregation. Doesn't want to cause injury but some things that have come out of this congregation and have caused injury. Lovingly, share, wisdom and information, the seven or eight feasts of the Lord, their seven major ones. Okay. Sabbath is the major one. So that's the 8th, every Saturday, every Saturday is a feast The first month there, three Passover unleavened bread. And first fruits, representing salvation, obedience, and dedication, or Thanksgiving. Shovel. It's in the middle of the year of the third month, God's instruction. And in feeling presence of the Holy Spirit, and the fall feasts of trumpets, atonement and Tabernacles booze. In the seventh month, they represent gods coming and creation, and Redemption, and judgment and the Lord's presence these to the Lord. This might sound too simple for you. You might, this might be new to you, I don't know. This is a grand overview of the seven feasts of the Lord. And a good explanation of what they are, what they represent. Fall feasts, overarching themes, love mercy and Grace. Redemption turn. Oh Lord deliver my life. Save me from this for the sake of your steadfast love. We ask God to save us to redeem us to help us Justice and judgment. God will bring every deed into judgment with every secret thing. Whether good or evil. Can you demonstrate? Love & Mercy without Justice?
I see some people shaking their head. Why not?
It's not truly love. There needs to be a removal of wrong there needs to be a destruction of evil. There needs to be a termination of bad things. God is a loving God. In order to demonstrate his love, he needs to be just needs to act as judge deliver Justice love with Justice. Call has given maybe two sermons on this steadfast love and faithfulness meet righteousness and peace kiss. Each other. Beautiful. Beautiful words.
Grand summary. Exodus calendar, our lives. These are actually our lives when you look at it creation and birth creation of the world at Birth Passover, Redemption, freedom from bondage and slavery. Shovel shovel over represents the arrow scene or betrothal phase. This is what I will do. I promise, I'll be a good husband. This is what I promised to do. I do accept the terms of my offer. Yes, I will. You marry me? Yes. Okay. And then they're married.
In the biblical sense, they are.
But they're not going to do anything about it. Other than get ready for the time when they're going to be living together.
They're going to be distant during this betrothal. It's called Arrow scene. The betrothal. It's a marriage offer and acceptance personal instruction in the presence of God. So this is where God is telling his people what he expects, what his instructions are. I'm the husband, you're the bride. These are my instructions to think that's a good idea. What do you think? Do you want to get together?
Good.
Wilderness experience. Of preparation. Of training and testing. It's 30 days before Rosh Hashanah to the wedding preparation month, shofars, blown every morning early in the morning. So it's kind of like, wake up wake up, wake up, get ready, he's coming, who's coming, you know? Rosh Hashanah at the at the end of Rosh Hashanah, there's a final shofar blast.
Head of the Year. God is with us. Traditionally, it's held that on Rosh. Hashanah God arrives. He's arrived in the house. And he's going to judge. But not right away. He's a very patient and loving God. He's going to think about it, he's in the house, he see things up close. And he walks into a special room and he thinks about it for 10 days. And during those ten days, he decides who's going to live, who's going to die. Now, does this actually happen?
It doesn't actually happen is it will happen? It's definitely going to happen. God is going to judge. God is going to come, God is going to judge, but this day of atonement every year. It's a promise future event that's going to happen. It's not yet happened. The wedding Feast of the Lamb, Sukkot celebration, it's not happened. Yet we're practicing. We're getting ready for the wedding. Feast of the Lamb. He's coming. There's no question. He's coming. What can you do to demonstrate that? You're serious. About him coming.
Take out the garbage. Remove the dishes from the dishwasher do something. It doesn't have to be big. You don't need to tell anybody, get ready, get ready because he's coming. Try to live the life. He's guiding you to live. If you're trying to live the life, he's gotten you to live, he'll help you. I know he will.
You know, the saying he'll separate our sins as far as the East is from the West.
Here I am standing.
Let's see, I'll stand this way, that's East. Okay, so here I am standing. He says turn. Or return or repent, right? So I start the turn like this and traditional hell is held. That says when you just start turn, God completes the turn. it's almost like he's in back of you and when you start to turn, there is right in front of you.
but if he separates our sins, as far as the East is from the West, all I need to do is turn and all of that stuff back there.
If those are my sins, how far are they apart?
Tens of thousands of miles or 360° or 180°.
180 degrees. 180 degrees. 360.
360 done work. Wilderness experience. Of training and testing the the Wilderness I think was it. That God gave them to help them to see who he was and they're going to mess up, they're going to make terrible mistakes. He was not terribly. I'm not going to say, wasn't angry is definitely angry, but He let it go. I got to the next thing, whatever that was Rosh. Hashanah final blast Gods with us 10 days of all Yom Kippur removal of evil and the promise of Salvation blast on Yom Kippur, And then Sukkot niece, serene. The marriage bed kind of like experience. Nice seeing the marriage has begun in a marriage celebration and life together. It's a grand summary. This is a
calendar, all the dates here are Sunset. I thought I'd kind of focusing on not all the way back to Creation. But just focus in on the season that we've just been through after the season that we're about to go into. So Tisha, Bob 9th of August, what's Tisha b'av? Terrible day. Destruction of the temple. Both temples lots of other things. Terrible day, great morning, right? Tisha b'av, terrible day. 2/15 9, 10, 11 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 oz later. They have a celebratory feast. Because the wine Harvest has begun. A time of great merriment. This is make sense. 6 days after a terrible morning, it's kind of interesting. 7 Savage, right after Tisha b'av, there's 7/7 of consolation the Sabbath this year. And aloe. Is at the end of those. So these this. Of consolation here, Begins with two blocks of and goes through. The picnic.
Then we have Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, these are the 10 days of all salvation and judgment with a 7-Day. Marriage-feast shemini atzeret, the last and greatest day of the feast simchat Torah. Joy singing, God's instruction us, Sukkot celebration is the next day. Thanksgiving. I like Thanksgiving because it reminds me that God is with us. We thanked him and then dedication. which is also called Chanukah, we rededicate our lives and then we have epiphany and,
The celebration of Jesus birth, with some people call Christmas, but I prefer to call it. Celebration of Jesus birth.
Tisha b'av, the 9th of August to the 15th of of Tisha Bob destruction of the temples. The first temple. It's written is was destroyed because of due to idolatry on the part of the Jews. Bad sexual relationships, illicit, sexual relationships, and bloodshed. There was a lot of all of that but the main thing that synthesizes idolatry the second temple was destroyed because of baseless hatred. And people have a problem with this because there was a phenomenal amount of bloodletting in the second temple. There was an example of a priest going up the altar to offer a sacrifice and the priest to wanted to be that priest. But he was next in line, so he couldn't be the guy was going up the altar to offer the sacrifice, he decides he'd killed a priest going up the altar to offer. This is true and it's historical record to kill the priest so that he could be the one offering the sacrifice. Now, why is this bloodletting not the reason for the destruction of the temple because bloodletting is one aspect of baseless hatred They say the baseless hatred is equal to equivalent to more than equal to equivalent to idolatry forbidding sexual relations, and bloodshed the talmud record. The reason for this and get 1055b and 56. A weird story. This is the story that they give for the reason of the destruction of the temple, there's a guy, he's Rich. He's wealthy wants to have a party wants to invite all the great people to his house. Answering B. All the sages and everybody else. And so it's going to be a big big, big deal at his house and he has a good friend called komsa and an enemy that he hates with everything called bar Comstock. And he tells his servant going invite counselor to the feast and the servant messes up and invites bar. Come so To the feast.
And bar cops that shows up the feast and the host is really angry that this enemy of his at his wonderful feast. And he tells him, he has to leave. And he says, I'll pay for my meal. I'll pay for half of the cost of the feast. I'll pay for the entire cost of the feast. And the host says, nope, you're my enemy, he picks them up and throws them out of the house. Now the guy who's hurt because he was enjoying being in the presence of all these great people is angry and hurt. Angry and hurts. Not good. He goes to Caesar and tell Caesar. What's happened? And Caesar says, tell you what I would like you to offer a sacrifice for me and see how this is received. And so, he takes the Sacrifice from Caesar, which is a perfect blend of unblemished sacrifice and on the way he blemishes it, So that the priests will see that this is a blemished offering and they refused to accept the sacrifice of Caesar and Caesar destroys the temple. This is a talmudic story. This is the only thing in all the time. With that talks about the destruction of the feasts.
Baseless hatred. I've been working through this baseless hatred question.
Sometimes I'll say something or let's say sometimes someone says something and the person that they're saying it to it, misinterprets what they're saying.
And it can, cause anger, and frustration, and confusion, and all kinds of things, right? So, I called this baseless confusion. Or baseless failure to communicate.
Or baseless misunderstanding. and I would have to say that all of these things, baseless confusion, baseless misunderstanding, baseless
They're kind of a subset of baseless hatred. We need to get away with that stuff. We still need to stop that stuff. We need to try to work through the communication. We need to try to work through.
The misunderstanding, the miscommunication. And not take things so personally.
To have started, the grape Harvest, several wonderful, historical events, have long list of bad things to Bob, long list of good things. It's amazing that such a joyful festivals held within a week of the saddest day of the year.
Shabab the necromancy, the 7/7 of compilation V70 of consolation reconstruct. According to many commentators through the tended to help us reconstruct a sense of divine presence, even at the temples gone,
The prophecies given mostly Isaiah display. God's love, drawing us closer to gain new understanding of all that's happened. Like a husband and wife who experienced crisis yet returned to an exceed, their affection for one another. The marriage seemed like it was on the Rocks. It's not going to survive, its ended, it's over, it's done and then they are able to communicate and they're able to restring than and renew their relationship with each other and then and the marriage is even stronger than it was before the difficulty. There are many examples. Do it in a little, the month of elul, which were about to enter into the 4th. It said we dropped clear sir closer? Like two lovers, the final prophetic portion Reed's. I'll greatly rejoice in the Lord. My soul shall be joyful in my God, as a bridegroom prepares himself as a bride adorned for self with jewels. God rejoices with us like a groom rejoices with his bride. The month of elul. This is how it's spelled. It's only mentioned once in the entire Bible and Nehemiah 6:15.
Alif Laila. Ahmad Ahmad.
Alex llama llama. From ancient times, commentators have known that these are the first letters of the verse in Song of Songs. 63, I am. I me, My beloved's, Little D and my beloved, the Dodi is mine Lee. I am my beloved and my beloved is mine. hello, and the time to remember this promised, Relationship. In the song. People are saying where is your beloved and the bride cries out this. And then the following verse is a how he's loving her. He's now in her presence and they're talking about crazy things that don't make sense in our language today. But they're beautiful in the Hebrew.
Many Jews wives wear this ring aneela, do diva doodly or the engraving on it? On their finger is their wedding as a wedding ring. My wife has one, it's not great, but she wears it. I was meeting with a friend and I said, so what, what, what do the husband's wear? And he said well, I have, I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me forever. It's a verse from Hosea. So this is a Beautiful Lovers Affair here, were there really, really in love with each other. and, It's a Wonderful song.
This is a beautiful love affair, but Jose has been told by God to marry a prostitute, who will have children by other men. Butterly and Hosea. In chapter 2. This, these are the words. Jesus promises that? Jesus. Yes. Jesus God. The Father promises. I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth in righteousness and Justice and steadfast love. And mercy, I will betroth you to me and faithfulness and you shall know the Lord. And in that day, I will answer entirely Messianic in the midst of a terrible relationship. God makes this promise. So, this is sometimes. What's engraved, on? The husband's ring? I will betroth you to me forever, it goes on, it's even better. It's really, really rich, read it sometime, get ready for the wedding Feast. So we're getting ready for a wedding Feast income. Unity, Hello, a few ideas. What should we do during a lull? Well, if you have your own traditions, Take out the garbage empty, the dishwasher, whatever it is, pick something to either do or not, do spend time with God. Try to spend time with God, in Jewish congregations, they blow the shofar, everyday to remind you to wake up. Pray, reflect shofar, read study do something in the presence of God, not just alone with God, but in the presence of God, what we're doing today, I trust is spending time with God and worship, and praise, and banners, and flags, and teaching instruction, listen. To what God is saying and to what others are saying, if he's telling you to walk around the city, seven times and blow horns, do that. Prayer by prayer step-by-step. Share the good news about God, that can be the gospel message or it can be just the good news about God. The good news about what God's doing in your life, and your family's life, stay strong in your faith and help others to build up their strength. Walk with God, while walking with others, a lot of people say, we walk in heaven and on Earth at the same time, Visit loved ones up by bobble head above many Jews. This is the time of year that they visit the graves of their families. Kind of like our Memorial Day. Demonstrate love and encourage those around you. In some way.
Any questions before we pray? It's been a long. I apologize. Yes.
This sermon is recorded and I can send out slides if you want slides and they're actually available to download. Online, I can send you a link to that if you want.
Lord, we ask your blessing. We thank you for being in her presence and many, many, many ways we thank you for guiding us leading us. Instructing us and yes, even protecting us. Lord, we know you are coming and this is the time of year. When we celebrate, are practicing to be ready for your coming. Help us to actually be ready for your coming.
Lord, if we get all ready for the feast and we don't have it because we're with you, that's fine. We look forward to your coming and we're trying to be ready for your coming, please guide us and lead us so that we can be ready for your coming. Help us to not have unwarranted. Hatred unwarranted, confusion unwarranted, fear and warranted miscommunication. Unwarranted. Anything, that's not of you. Help us to be about warranty. That was unwarranted. Love. About unwarranted. Mercy about unwarranted. Peace. Thank you Lord for being our God guide us and lead us in Jesus name. Amen. Thank you.
