The Mind

Not grey matter (organ)… is what scripture defines as the door of the soul

Whatever the mind believes to be true or accepts or rejects informs that gray matter… the body… and the soul what to do or how to respond

Mark 12:30 ESV

And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

a. understanding, reasoning, logic, thinking…

b. it is the mind that helps us to make sense of

i. what we believe

ii. how to decide

4. 3 parts to the mind according to scripture

a. Dianoia = conscience; guards the information coming in from the day to day.

b. Nous = intermediate space where information is processed and ordered.

c. Cheder = deepest recesses of the mind; information here is hidden to the conscience

if then I am to love the Lord my God with all my mind to forge conditions needed for the counter habitat of the demonic to exist… how do I bring all of these into submission?

Operating in the Mind

Three things to consider about the mind

Mind does not have a will of its own.

Mind only operates with the information that is accepted

good or bad it holds on to that information.

Mind does lead to your destiny

the information you are choosing to accept or cultivate will lead you accordingly.

Proverbs 4:5 ESV

Get wisdom; get insight; do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.

Get wisdom- do not forget…

Proverbs 4:6 ESV

Do not forsake her, and she will keep you; love her, and she will guard you.

Don’t forsake her… she will come over you… she will protect

2. James 1:5 ask for wisdom He gives it generously

Mentality

Mentality then is comprised with the sum of all the things we have accepted as truth and rejected as lies

The mind at work thinks fast than we can speak… the space of deep warfare

battleground for the enemy

If the enemy succeeds here…

Romans 12:2 ESV

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Our mentality is in need of being renewed or transformed from what it used to think to what it needs to think

It merits testing… is what I am thinking about what God wants or what my flesh desires

transformed to know what is Good, Acceptable, and Perfect

Proverbs 4:23 ESV

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

heart (leb) mind soul strength

feelings thoughts volition

it is in need of being guarded… what is it that is being consumed by the mind (heart)

Deuteronomy 11:18 ESV

“You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

lay up these words on your heart (mind)

the more you lay these up the more you are transformed… that as you set your mind on the word of God the Lord goes before you when you sit down when you lie down when you walk

Taking ground

driving out the enemy mightier than you

every place your sole treads shall be yours

I will increase your territory

NO ONE SHALL BE ABLE To STAND AGAINST YOU

Transformed by the renewing of the mind… renewing of the mind… renewing of the mind

Mental Stronghold

Mental Strongholds are forged over time

Your liberation is complete but there is a stronghold that you need to deal with

1 Corinthians 6:12 ESV

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything.

Not helpful… I will not be dominated by anything

there are things that have dominated our minds… we need to overcome such things

what is the prevailing mentality? The spirit Mouzzim in Daniel 11 tells of how people will put on a helmet that will keep them shielded from the truth and will not allow them to see what is Good for them

Forging Conditions for the Holy Spirit to Prevail

Destroying the mentality

2 Cor 10:3-6 gives us an outline of how to prevail

The weapons we have carry divine power

destroy strongholds

destroy the Mouzzim we have erected

destroy every opionion raised against the knowledge of God

Take every thought captive

punish the disobedience and and align the mind into obedience

5 Steps in 20 minutes (every day)

self-diagnosis -> Hunt down the negative thoughts

they need to be uprooted and have no place in you

attack those bad thoughts

Meditate -> expose the good thoughts

root them in the bible

contemplate on the word of God

Write it down -> commit it to memory

write the word of God down

our minds retain what we write

the bad thought was… the word of God is

Review it -> install the mental changes

continually go over the word

Action the change -> put it to practice until it becomes automatic
