Scripture Invitation
This afternoon, I ask that you would offer your prayerful consideration to 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 as we labor together in this word of “From Tea to Testimony”
Bible Passage
Bible Passage
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”
Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Introduction
Introduction
How many of us here have heard the phrases “spilling the tea”, “what’s the tea”, or “sipping tea."?
You see, in our culture, these phrases have come to symbolize the act of gossip—sharing tidbits of information, often laced with judgment or speculation about peoples lives.
We’ve all felt the weight of others’ opinions, haven’t we?
People often try to dissect our experiences—what we’re going through or what we’ve been through.
They may gather around the metaphorical table, sipping their tea, whispering about our struggles, our failures, and our triumphs.
But I want to remind you today that we should not be swayed by what others think.
Our experiences, no matter how painful or challenging, are not merely fodder for gossip; they are opportunities to testify to the incredible grace of God in our lives.
Each trial we face,
Each scar we bear, tells a story of resilience and redemption.
Our past is not a source of embarrassment but a canvas upon which God paints His masterpiece of grace.
I'm here to tell you, I am not embarrassed about anything I have gone through!
What may be "tea" for the people in the world, is a testimony for me.
I tell people all the time, If you’re gonna talk about what broke me, invite me to the table so I can tell you what God did with those pieces!
In a world where social media reigns, we often find ourselves curating our lives, only showing the polished versions of who we are.
But I stand before you today to remind you that our scars are not signs of weakness; they are badges of honor!

The Apostle Paul, who wrote the letter to the Corinthians, was no stranger to suffering.
He faced persecution, imprisonment, and rejection.
Yet, he boldly boasted about his weaknesses!
Why?
Because he understood that in his brokenness, God’s power was magnified.
In Paul's day, much like ours, there was a tendency to hide our personal struggles behind facades.
But God wants us to bring our authentic selves to the table.
So what can we learn from Paul’s experiences?
First thing we need to learn is that:
1. We Need to Embracing Our Past
1. We Need to Embracing Our Past
It’s essential to acknowledge our past struggles.
The book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “There is a time for everything.” There’s a time for mourning, for healing, and for sharing.
When we embrace our past, we free ourselves from the chains of shame.

Consider the story of the potter and the clay—Think about how the potter molds the clay, often breaking it down only to build it back up into something beautiful.
Second thing we need to learn is that:
2. We Need to have an Understanding of God’s Grace
2. We Need to have an Understanding of God’s Grace
God’s grace is not just a concept; it’s a transformative power.
In our weakness, His grace shines the brightest.
As we read in 2 Corinthians 12:9:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.”
Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.
Have you ever had moments when you felt utterly weak, yet somehow, you found the strength to carry on.
That’s grace working behind the scenes!
Lastly once we have learned to embrace our past and understand that God’s grace is sufficient we can have a:
3. Transformational Testimony
3. Transformational Testimony
Our testimonies are not just for us; they are for others.
Revelations 12:11 reminds us that "they triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony."
Your story can be the light guiding someone else out of darkness.
Conclusion
Conclusion
As we reflect on our journey, let’s remember:
Our past does not define us; it prepares us.
Grace empowers us in our weakest moments.
& Our testimonies are powerful tools for transformation.
So, I encourage you, let’s stop hiding our broken pieces and start sharing our stories!
If you’ve been broken, don’t be afraid to invite someone to your table!
Broken Crayons still color!
Despite what I’ve been through,
despite what I look like,
a masterpiece can still be drawn with the pieces that are left.
God is not through with you yet!
You are a living testimony!
You are an overcomer!
You are a child of God!
Your story matters!
Your brokenness will become your blessing!
Let us go forth, not in shame, but in boldness, ready to share the goodness of God that has brought us through!
