8 Mirad que nadie os engañe por medio de filosofías y huecas sutilezas, según las tradiciones de los hombres, conforme a los rudimentos del mundo, y no según Cristo…

13 Y a vosotros, estando muertos en pecados y en la incircuncisión de vuestra carne, os dio vida juntamente con él, perdonándoos todos los pecados,

14 anulando el acta de los decretos que había contra nosotros, que nos era contraria, quitándola de en medio y clavándola en la cruz,

15 y despojando a los principados y a las potestades, los exhibió públicamente, triunfando sobre ellos en la cruz.

16 Por tanto, nadie os juzgue en comida o en bebida, o en cuanto a días de fiesta, luna nueva o días de reposo,

17 todo lo cual es sombra de lo que ha de venir; pero el cuerpo es de Cristo.

18 Nadie os prive de vuestro premio, afectando humildad y culto a los ángeles, entremetiéndose en lo que no ha visto, vanamente hinchado por su propia mente carnal,

19 y no asiéndose de la Cabeza, en virtud de quien todo el cuerpo, nutriéndose y uniéndose por las coyunturas y ligamentos, crece con el crecimiento que da Dios.

8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. ..

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

16 So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,

17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

18 Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

19 and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

Propósito: Promover el crecimiento de nuestra nueva vida.

Purpose: To promote the growth of our new life.

-En la serie pasada identificamos las 3 clases de personas que se encuentran en medio de la comunidad cristiana.

-In the last series we identified the 3 kinds of people who are found in the midst of the christian community.

-La condición ideal de una persona que ha nacido de nuevo es su constante crecimiento.

-The ideal condition of a person who has been born again is his constant growth.

-El apóstol Pablo utiliza la figura de la construcción para ilustrar la responsabilidad de un creyente.

-The apostle Paul uses the figure of construction to illustrate the responsibility of a believer.

La vida espiritual | Spiritual life

-La vida espiritual es el resultado del actuar del Espíritu de Dios en la vida de una persona.

-Spiritual life is the result of the action of the Spirit of God in the life of a person.

-Es una transformación de la conciencia. Esta transformación establece tanto una posición, como una condición.

-It is a transformation of the conscience. This transformation establishes both a position and a condition.

-Posición, porque mediante la justificación por la obra de Cristo, somos declarados justos delante de Dios.

-Position, because through justification by the work of Christ, we are declared righteous before God.

-Condición, porque ahora vivimos bajo la dirección del Espíritu de Dios y en una relación personal con El.

-Condition, because we now live under the direction of the Spirit of God and in a personal relationship with Him.

-Pero esta “nueva naturaleza” debe crecer y madurar, para que nuestro carácter cada vez sea más parecido a Cristo.

-But this “new nature” must grow and mature, so that our character becomes more and more like Christ.

Efesios 4:13 (NTV)

13 Ese proceso continuará hasta que todos alcancemos tal unidad en nuestra fe y conocimiento del Hijo de Dios que seamos maduros en el Señor, es decir, hasta que lleguemos a la plena y completa medida de Cristo.

Ephesians 4:13 (NLT)

13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

Implicaciones del crecimiento espiritual | Implications of spiritual growth

-Veamos tres implicaciones del crecimiento del hombre espiritual:

-Let’s look at three implications of the spiritual man:

1. Tener la vida del Espíritu | Having the life of the Spirit

-No se puede crecer espiritualmente sino no se tiene la vida del Espíritu.

-You cannot grow spiritually if you do not have the life of the Spirit.

1 Y él os dio vida a vosotros, cuando estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados.

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.

-Dios imparte vida espiritual mediante el poder de su palabra. El Señor dijo:

-God imparts spiritual life through the power of His word. The Lord said:

Juan 6:63 (NTV)

63 Sólo el Espíritu da vida eterna; los esfuerzos humanos no logran nada. Las palabras que yo les he hablado son espíritu y son vida.

63 The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

-La persona que ha recibido la vida del Espíritu es sensible a las cosas de Dios. Oye la voz de Dios, siente la presencia de Dios, anhela el alimento de la palabra de Dios, y mediante su buena conciencia mantiene una relación con Dios.

-The person who has received the life of the Spirit is sensitive to the things of God. He hears the voice of God, feels the presence of God, longs for the nourishment of the word of God, and through his good conscience maintains a relationship with God.

2. Tener el poder del Espíritu | Having the power of the Spirit

-El Espíritu Santo como Consolador, es el poder de Dios que se pone del lado del creyente para ayudarlo a mantener la salvación que recibe como regalo.

-The Holy Spirit as the Helper is the power of God that stands by the believer to help him maintain the salvation he receives as a gift.

-En este momento, el Espíritu Santo viene a morar; es decir, a estar para siempre en nosotros.

-At this moment, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell; that is, to be forever in us.

Juan 14:15–17 (RVR60)

15 Si me amáis, guardad mis mandamientos.

16 Y yo rogaré al Padre, y os dará otro Consolador, para que esté con vosotros para siempre:

17 el Espíritu de verdad, al cual el mundo no puede recibir, porque no le ve, ni le conoce; pero vosotros le conocéis, porque mora con vosotros, y estará en vosotros.

15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—

17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

-Otro propósito del Espíritu Santo para morar en los creyentes es “investirlos de poder” .

-Another purpose of the Holy Spirit to dwell in the believers is to “invest them with power”.

Lucas 24:49 (RVR60)

49 He aquí, yo enviaré la promesa de mi Padre sobre vosotros; pero quedaos vosotros en la ciudad de Jerusalén, hasta que seáis investidos de poder desde lo alto.

49 “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

Investir: Conceder al alguien una dignidad o poder. También es colocar una cualidad o apariencia en alguien.

Invest: To grant someone a dignity or power. It is also to place a quality or appearance in someone.

Poder: Es traducido de una palabra que significa “capacidad de llevar a cabo cualquier cosa”.

Power: It is a translated from a word that means “ability to carry out anything”.

-Tiene el sentido de “posesión de una influencia controladora que se manifiesta sobre la realidad de una manera sobrenatural”.

-It has the sense of “possession of controlling influence that manifests itself over reality in a supernatural way”.

-A lo que el Señor se refería con “investidos de poder” es a recibir una cualidad sobrenatural que los controlaría y los capacitaría para extender el Evangelio de Cristo, dando testimonio de Su resurrección.

-What the Lord mean by “invested with power” is to receive a supernatural quality that would control them and enable them to spread the Gospel os Christ, giving testimony of His resurrection.

-Es importante anotar que los milagros operados por el Espíritu Santo a través de la iglesia obedecen al hecho de respaldar la predicación del Evangelio (Hechos 16.15-18).

-It is important to note that the miracles performed by the Holy Spirit through the church are in support of the preaching of the Gospel (Acts 16.15-18).

-Necesitamos la influencia sobrenatural del poder del Espíritu Santo para predicar el evangelio y para servir a Dios.

-We need the supernatural influence of the power of the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel and to serve God.

3. Andar en el Espíritu | Walk in the Spirit

-Esto se refiere a la ética del creyente.

-This refers to the ethics of the believer.

Gálatas 5:16–17 (RVR60)

16 Digo, pues: Andad en el Espíritu, y no satisfagáis los deseos de la carne.

17 Porque el deseo de la carne es contra el Espíritu, y el del Espíritu es contra la carne; y éstos se oponen entre sí, para que no hagáis lo que quisiereis.

Galatians 5:16–17 (NKJV)

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

-La palabra “andar” significa “vivir o comportarse de una manera determinada”.

-The word “walks” means “to live or behave in a certain way”.

-Esta palabra nos invita a vivir permitiendo que seamos guiados por el Espíritu Santo, y no por los impulsos de la naturaleza pecaminosa.

-This word invites us to live allowing ourselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit, and not by the impulses of the sinful nature.

-“Andar” es la palabra clave para vivir la verdadera ética cristiana.

-“Walk” is the key word for living true christian ethics.

-Según la enseñanza del apóstol Pablo a los Efesios, el creyente debe:

-According to the teaching of the apostle Paul to the Ephesians, the believer must:

Andar en unidad (4.1-3)

Walk in unity (4.1-3)

Andar en santidad (4.17)

Walk in holiness (4.17)

Andar en amor (5.2)

Walk in love (5.2)

Andar en luz, vida transparente, buen testimonio (5.8)

Walk in light, a transparent life, a good testimony (5.8)

Andar como sabios (5.15)

Walk like wise persons (5.15)

-El que tiene la vida de Dios siempre tiene el anhelo de crecer espiritualmente.

-Those who have the life of God always have the desire to grow spiritually.
