Genesis 7:1-24

Main Idea: God demonstrates His faithfulness by calling Noah’s family to board the perfectly prepared ark, ensuring the preservation of His people.

1. God's faithfulness to the families in the ark.

(v.1-5;7-9;13-16a)
Noah and his family
When the Lord said to Noah, “Come thou,” he did come. He did not put it off, and say that surely it was meant for others; he felt it to be a personal call. It was “Come thou.” He knew that it was for himself. God the Holy Spirit speaks home to the inmost soul when he speaks to save: there is no putting off his voice as though directed to another. Noah did not feel inclined to controvert, or plead for delay, or object, or make excuses, or say he could not, for when the Lord said to Noah “Come thou,” Noah did come. C H S
Noah was the one who was found as righteous.
His wife, his sons and their wives could have been saved or they could be the result of God’s Covenant blessing on Noah benefiting his family.
God’s faithfulness starts with the Fathers.

and seven pairs of clean animals
“What is a kind?” Often, people are confused into thinking that a “species” is a “kind.” But this isn’t necessarily so. A species is a man-made term used in the modern classification system.v
A remnant is saved

2. God's faithfulness in the forecast of the flood.

(v.4,10-12,17-20, 24)
Gods forecast was clear as He commanded the preparation for the ark and it’s inhabitants
The entire feat lasted over a year
Preparation to be worshiped - The seven pairs of clean animals
Noah was 600 years old when he entered the ark?
In the storms of you life know that God has given you proper preperation. He has called you to be faithflu like Noah.
He has called you to do all that he has commaned.
Remember that before the Flood came, Noah was in the minority, but after the Flood, he was in the majority.

3. God's faithfulness in the fortification of the ark.

(v.16b,23b)
God is the one who shut the door of the ark.
God secured Noah and his family in the ark.
God protected them for the judgement.
John 6:37 “37 Everyone the Father gives me will come to me, and the one who comes to me I will never cast out.”
Psalm 46:1–3 “1 God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble. 2 Therefore we will not be afraid, though the earth trembles and the mountains topple into the depths of the seas, 3 though its water roars and foams and the mountains quake with its turmoil. Selah”
The man who clings to his own righteousness is like a man who grasps a millstone to prevent himself from sinking in the flood.

Matthew 24:37–41 “37 As the days of Noah were, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. 38 For in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day Noah boarded the ark. 39 They didn’t know until the flood came and swept them all away. This is the way the coming of the Son of Man will be. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding grain with a hand mill; one will be taken and one left.”
“Jesus, I my cross have taken, All to leave, and follow thee; Destitute, despised, forsaken; Thou, from hence, my all shalt be: Let the world despise and leave me; They have left my Saviour too: But my Lord will not deceive me; And in him my all I view.”
