Chapel Message for the Dedication of Trinitas Classical Christian School
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Dear Friends in Christ,
Today marks a significant moment as we gather to dedicate this new Christian school, a place where young minds and hearts will be shaped by the truth of God’s Word. It is fitting that we turn to Scripture to guide our thoughts and prayers on this special day. In Galatians 5:22-23, the Apostle Paul reminds us of the qualities that the Holy Spirit cultivates within us: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things, there is no law."
These fruits of the Spirit are not just abstract virtues; they are the evidence of a life transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we dedicate this school, we are also dedicating ourselves to nurturing these fruits in the lives of our students, teachers, and all who will pass through these halls.
1. Love
1. Love
The first fruit is love. This is the love that God has for us, which we are called to reflect in our relationships with others. In this school, may our students learn not only about the love of God but also how to love one another as Christ loved us. "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" (John 13:35).
2. Joy
2. Joy
Next is joy, a deep and abiding sense of happiness that comes from knowing and serving the Lord. In a world filled with temporary pleasures, we pray that the joy of the Lord will be the strength of every student and teacher here. May this school be a place where joy is evident in every classroom and every interaction.
3. Peace
3. Peace
The peace of Christ is something the world cannot give. It is a peace that transcends circumstances and guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). As we dedicate this school, we pray that it will be a sanctuary of peace, where students can find rest for their souls and where conflicts are resolved in the spirit of Christ.
4. Patience
4. Patience
Patience is a virtue that is often tested in the busy life of a school. But it is also a fruit of the Spirit, a sign that we are relying on God’s timing rather than our own. May this school cultivate patience in our students and staff, as we wait on the Lord and trust in His perfect plans.
5. Kindness
5. Kindness
Kindness is a reflection of God’s grace toward us. It is seen in small acts of service and in the way we treat one another. Let this school be a place where kindness is not just taught but lived out daily, in words and actions that uplift and encourage.
6. Goodness
6. Goodness
Goodness is the fruit of a life that seeks to honor God in all things. It is integrity, righteousness, and a desire to do what is right. May this school instill in its students a love for what is good, a desire to walk in the light, and a commitment to live according to God’s Word.
7. Faithfulness
7. Faithfulness
Faithfulness is about being true to God and His calling on our lives. It is a steadfast commitment to follow Christ no matter the cost. As we dedicate this school, we pray for faithfulness in the lives of our students and teachers, that they would be unwavering in their devotion to the Lord.
8. Gentleness
8. Gentleness
Gentleness is strength under control. It is the way we handle others with care, reflecting the gentleness of Christ who welcomed the little children and carried our burdens. In this school, may gentleness be evident in the way we interact with one another, treating each person with dignity and respect.
9. Self-Control
9. Self-Control
Finally, self-control is the discipline to resist temptation and to live in a way that honors God. It is the fruit that allows us to say “no” to ungodliness and “yes” to a life that pleases the Lord. May this school teach self-control not just as a rule but as a reflection of a life submitted to the Holy Spirit.
As we dedicate this school today, let us commit ourselves to being a community that bears these fruits of the Spirit. Let this school be a place where the love of Christ is known, where joy abounds, where peace reigns, and where all the fruits of the Spirit are cultivated in every heart.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this school and for the opportunity to educate and disciple the next generation. We pray that Your Spirit would be at work here, producing the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in the lives of all who enter. May this school be a light in our community, a place where Your name is honored, and where every student grows in their knowledge and love of You. We dedicate this school to You, trusting that You will bless it and use it for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
