Faith Trusts in God’s Perfect Redemption (29)

The background: the 10 plagues of God’s righteous judgment on unrepentant Pharoah and also on the false gods of Egypt.
Water to blood. The Nile Egypt’s source of life.
Frogs. Power to Nile.
Gnats from the Dust (magician’s couldn’t replicate)
Flies (Israel not affected in Goshen)
Livestock killed (Egypt only)
Boils, now the Lord hardens Pharaoh’s heart
Hailstone (some Egyptians listened, “those that feared the Lord.”)
Locusts
Darkness
Death of the Firstborn
The Passover elements - Exodus 12
Unleavened bread, ready to go not takeing Egypt with them.
1 Corinthians 5:6–8 “Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
Bitter herbs, a reminder of the bitterness of bondage in Egypt (the world).
A spotless lamb - Exodus 12:11–13 “In this manner you shall eat it: with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments: I am the Lord. The blood shall be a sign for you, on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.”
Without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.
A father was to take a pet lamb, four days in the home as a substitute for his son.
Redeemed by the blood of the lamb, “when I see the blood...”
The only safe place was sealed by the blood. It had to be appropriated.
Revelation 7:13–14 “Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

Faith Rests in God’s Power to Rescue (29)

Hebrews 11:29 “By faith the people crossed the Red Sea as on dry land, but the Egyptians, when they attempted to do the same, were drowned.”
The world (Egypt) seeks to enslave God’s people again - Exodus 14:10 “When Pharaoh drew near, the people of Israel lifted up their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians were marching after them, and they feared greatly. And the people of Israel cried out to the Lord.”
Their only options were surrender or be slain.
They made their supplication to God, before becoming fearful.
