Mercy – “That benevolence, mildness or tenderness of heart which disposes a person to overlook injuries, or to treat an offender better than he deserves.”

I. The Union of Mercy and Truth – Thankfulness Connected no less than 20 times in Scripture

Truth – This is what I deserve Mercy – I did not get what I deserve Psalm 85:10, Proverbs 3:3, Proverbs 20:28

II. Living by the mercies of God

a. Remember His Goodness Psalm 136 b. Remember His Sacrifice Romans 12:1-2 c. Mercy found at the Throne of Grace

The Mercy-Seat is a result of the Throne of Grace

Grace – Receiving that which we don’t deserve Mercy – Not receiving that which we do deserve

Memory verse – Psalm 103:11 “For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.”
