I can remember being at a bicycle race several years ago with my girls and husband in Athens Georgia

Our youngest, Makizne at that time she was about 3. She couldn’t see anything as many people were gathered all along the streets to watch this race.

In her cute little baby voice - she would say pick me up daddy.

So He would pick her up and place her on his shoulders.

Being 6’4” this made Makinze really tall and able to see everything that day

She had someone to meet her need

I think of a different kind of need that was met in Mark 2 when Jesus forgives and heals a paralytic

Simon Peters house was full of people hearing Jesus proclaim the truth of the gospel

This account is a picture of how helpless and hopeless every person in his or her sin is with out Christ

The man could not do anything to cure his own disease, he could not even get himself to Jesus without someone coming to his aid,

This is why having godly friends is so important

What we do at the Pregnancy Resource Center is much more than a bicycle race it is a critical crossroads of life and death decisions -

similar to Mark 2 in which we are doing what we can to save lives here on earth and for eternity

Together we can continue to impact lives right here in the heart of Sevier County

Doing what we can for someone who has lost their way to hear truth and find hope

That is what these four friends did. We cannot save them, but we can invite our friends to church

or someone that has an unexpected pregnancy point them to a place that they will hear truth about their situtation and be pointed to the One who is the source of all of our hope and that is Jesus

With your help we provide a safe haven for women like Jennifer, who came to our Sevierville office determined to have an abortion—she knew we were life-affirming and came anyway

Jennifer was deeply involved in witchcraft and had already made plans to end her pregnancy if she was pregnant.

We met her where she was, loved her and held fast to this verse.

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Jennifer recieved free pregnancy testing to learn she was indeed pregnant

And then offered her a no cost ultrasound

as our nurse Rachel performed her ultrasound exam, educated her about her pregnancy options and how we can help her

Jennifer locked eyes with her baby and tears fell down her cheek

but --She and her boyfriend already made plans to drive to North Carolina like many Tennesseans are doing the following day to have the abortion

As Jennifer and her boyfriend arrived at the abortion business and she was ready for the procedure, she kept questioning herself

what am I doing

she started Texting her boyfriend --who wasn’t allowed in the building

Something is not right, I don’t feel right about this, I don’t think we need to do this

Her boyfriend texts back — then walk out

Jennifer courageously walked out of those doors of death and came back to the open doors of life

She chose life.

Jennifer was able to start on no cost prenatal vitamins with a local pharmacy partnership, we helped her start the process for insurance, and connected her to a local OB so they could start the care for her and her baby

We shared the holistic support programs we offer and our 12-week bible study that also connects her to a local church —this one peeked her interest

it was the first 2 weeks in Jennifer wanted to repent and turn from her sinful lifestyle and desired to be saved

Jennifer accepted Jesus right there in our Sevierville office

There are children here today and on the way and yet to walk through our doors because of you and what we do together this hour

Jennifer is one of many of those hard appointments walking through our doors in Sevierville

The Need

Is there really a need in Sevier County?

Honestly I wouldnt be standing here before you today if there wasn’t a need

Many might think that after the landmark case of Roe v Wade being overturned in June of 2022 that Tennessee is good

Especially since abortion is now illegal in the state

That is hardly the case

God knew the need here in Sevier County before we did

in Spring of 2022 - our Pregnancy Resource Center that has been in Blount County at that point for 36 years was gifted a debt free tiny house on the corner of Park Road here in Sevierville in March of that year

I could see us outgrow that space and that time is here.

We cant take off the roof in this case and lower people down to meet their point of need

but we can share our need with godly friends today

is the back side of our Sevierville office,

3 staff and depending on the size of the car — our volunteers and staff will park on this right side of the building

leaving one open space and one handicap space and not able to add on

We are in need now more than ever

A new building will allow us to serve the influx of need -- impacting twice as many lives

We are asking you to do 3 things today in addition to taking a baby bottle to put change in

Your support helped us serve the most we ever have last year in all of our locations combined

We served 2,287 brave families total last year - a 30% increase from the year before

with close to 95% choosing life

Together we are saving and impacting lives here on earth and for eternity

We can continue to boldly stand on His truth making the invitation to our families —that there is a better way

We had 15 families accept Christ as their personal savior last year and 4 rededicate their lives to Christ -

and there is more work to be done and we need you

We are asking for godly friends that will go the extra mile - that would take a roof off if they had to

to get families to the hope and help they need as they face unexpected pregnancies but also through all these efforts they will have the opportunity to meet Jesus

We need prayer intercessors to serve with us and walk alongside families

We need those who will give monthly so we can continue to serve families at no cost
