It is the goal of most people to be and/or to maintain self-sufficiency. Some have a single obstacle on their mind that they believe if they just got this one thing straightened out, everything would be OK. Will it? In this encounter with the man at the healing pool, Jesus offers him a chance to solve the problem weighing on his mind with a broader solution to what he really needs.
